“Today, with our partners, I have just presented the official approval form for the project. The fund is coming from the Asian Development Investment Bank. And it is to cover the first phase of the project that cuts across four major cities in Nigeria. When Nigeria became a member earlier in the year, those ignorant wailers were talking carelessly, they're too myopic to understand the long term benefits. Here we go. God bless President Tinubu, God bless Nigeria. |

Even though the project is audio. Why does Tinubu and his failed regime think excluding Southeast from key national projects will make him a hero? Tinubu is just repeating the same nonsense Buhari started and he thinks he would end well like this? Where is Buhari today? Who talks or remembers him for good? Will heaven fall if Tinubu mandate the project planners to take the rail to Enugu or Onitsha which are very vital cities with high commercial values. It's alright |

Always thinking elitist. It is not high speed rail that Nigeria needs now. This country needs the kind of transportation that lowers the cost of commerce and industry to make our economy competitive. We need heavy gauge rail lines to move petroleum products, cement, steel from producers to markets. The construction industry needs rail lines to move granite chippings from the mountain belts of Nigeria to the coastal regions and move dredged sand the opposite direction. Containers from the ports, farm products, minerals and ores and cash crops to export from the hinterland. This is what effective transport means. High speed rail transport is elitist, expensive and not profitable in most countries. Just a white elephant. |

lexy2014:Actually I was supposed to have let this slide but I won't. If you are comparing issues, try as much as possible to use reasonable basis to compare. The construction of Cairo Cape Town started in 1971 . This means that the budget was made before then. Besides, the so-called project is not yet completed till today - 54 years after. Is that the kind of project you want? How do you even compare a 1971 project to 2025. Who does that? This Lagos Calabar coastal highway will be completed and delivered on schedule. And we will use it and even pay toll to the shame of all the people who never saw this economically valuable project as anything good. Same with this speed rail. |
| Re: FG, Firms To Build $60bn High-speed Rail In Nigeria by yemre: 10:22pm On Aug 13, 2025 |
Ofemannnu:they want to prosper but don't want development, they forgot that nobody and no government will share free money to them but can only help them to achieve their goals by giving them infrastructures that will enable them do their business. Besides , they have not yet recovered from election loss and they just hate everything because the person calling the shot is not their man. Whether they like it or not, Nigeria will develop whoever doesn't want Nigeria to develop is free to relocate. |

[quote author=Beckyroman post=136447455]Na Only God go deliver us for this country. There is too much hunger in the land so all this audio project no benefits us ooooo.[/quot This is what you guys don't understand, the project is actually Chinese-funded under a build-operate-transfer (or similar) arrangement, meaning they’ve invested their own capital and expect to recover it over several years before handing it over. |

yemre:In your state of sliding (front sliding, back sliding or side sliding), what is the basis of comparison used that you say is not reasonable? What makes that basis of comparison unreasonable? Who decides what basis of comparison is reasonable or not? What is your basis of comparison and what makes it reasonable? How does your basis of comparison nullify my basis of comparison? |
