...A closer look at the gap between Sowore’s public claims and verifiable facts, and what it reveals about trust, manipulation, and public opinion. In the age of viral clips and hashtag outrage, it does not take much for a well-staged scene to whip up public sentiment. Unfortunately, the recent detention of Omoyele Sowore by the Nigeria Police Force Monitoring Unit at Force Headquarters, Abuja, on August 6 th of August, 2025, is a case study in how carefully crafted theatrics can mislead the public, tarnish institutions, and weaponize sympathy.https://www.arewareportersng.com/the-bandage-with-no-wound/

It is refreshing to encounter a critical thinker who sees through the antics of perennial complainer-for-profit, Mr. Sowore, whose entire life has been devoted to vigorously shadow-boxing against real and imaginary enemies, without one single victory on record thus far. Clearly. Mr. Sowore only finds validation when he is the center of attention, so he devotes his every waking hour to find something that he can rage about with indignation before the assembled press. One could logically speculate that Mr. Sowore is not very adept in the art of seduction because his constant state of rage suggests he might be sexually frustrated most of the time. |

You guys are the ones who take Yele Sowore seriously and not me. If I need to be entertained by actors, I'll watch old Mr Ibu and Sam Loco movies instead of listening to anything that Yele guy has to say ![]() |

Jakumo:Jaks. We still need people like him rather than cowards. How many people can go to jail over 20 times. When Gani was alive many people accused him of the same. People are different. I believe Sowore has a point and he is a man of conviction. |

DeepSight:Ogawa DeepSight, my perception of Sowore differs from yours most notably regarding my evaluation of the way Sowore treats those who he imagines to be of lower status than himself. The true measure of a person's character can be gauged by observing how that person treats those occupying lower or subservient rungs of the social ladder . Time and time again Sowore has sought confrontation with uniformed Nigerian police officers who Sowore obviously presumes to be of lesser social status than himself. During those confrontations that are almost always instigated by Sowore, pushing and shoving are typically seen, when all along, a calm and measured attitude by Sowore would have resulted in outcomes that would highlight his potential as a statesman in the making. Rather than assume a diplomatic stance in his Quixotic quest for notoriety or fame, Sowore has consistently displayed the reckless, loud and confrontational attitude of a common motor-park thug. Behaving with such an alarming lack of restraint will, in the minds of many observers, disqualify Sowore from consideration as a serious candidate for any elected office in or outside Nigeria. Mr. Sowore relishes violent physical confrontation while haughtily disregarding all opportunities to display mature decorum, which combines to diminish his stature in the public eye, to that of a court jester whose only value will ever be to provide light entertainment for those who peruse news reports emanating from Nigeria. |

I'm highly disappointed in Sowore. Thought he's our Messiah all this while |

mrkia:He reminds me of a musician who had a number one hit many years ago, but failed to make the top 100 ever since, and thus tries to perform that same old tired song over and over again on the street corner, while people pass by without even noticing him. |

You mean same Sowore that’s a tool for the APC government?. Same Sowere that fixes protests dates and venues whenever the government senses the people are on the verge of protests?😂. Only those that don’t know better takes Sowere serious. Same character that endorsed a BuharI against a GEJ?. Come on. The guy is a treacherous snake as those he comes in the same region with. Nigerians know them |

Jakumo:You don't see beyond your nose! Sowore is not interested in veracity of claims anymore once you breach the rules of engagement or human right with him! This guy is wasting his energy on someone who has been defeating govt institutions over the years! Why try to incarcerate him in the first place, you use your power , he uses his influence and game plan ! Na mumu dey cry foul when he first fired the shot! The police is even lucky he didn't inject himself with tranquilizers that will render him lifeless and he pin it on them. Rubbish !! |

mrkia:You only believed him your messiah because he knows Nigerians seek "messiahs" and, like many to include even your pastors, Sowore took advantage of that knowledge. Meaning, as a cunning and manipulative elements, Sowore packages himself to appear your messiah. Many are doing same to include VDM, Kanu, Peter Obi, Dino Melaye, Deji Adeyanju etal and it is really sad that Nigerians are gullible enough to be fooled by the manipulative actions of these characters. All this carefully and deliberately choreographed antics of Sowore are designed to make it seem as if he is fighting the enemies of Nigerians. When he organises fake confrontation against the police, politicians, wealthy folks etal, he knows that Nigerians naturally resent, he is seeking to profit politically since he believes his stock will be elevated in the minds of 'simpletons' who will now view him their champion 'fearlessly' tackling their enemies. This is the crude ideology of manipulating a people with poverty and "sufferation" (Rastafari) PTSD that turned Sowore, VDM etal into Gods and 'champions' of the oppressed and powerless. Sowore is crudely playing Nigerians and patronising you because he believes you are unintelligent and easy to manipulate. It is very obvious. Look for example as Dino Melaye, Rotimi Amaechi and Deji Adeyanju have all "graduated" as lawyers to be called to the Bar late in life from institutions we all know sell degrees to wealthy folks like a hawker of drink sells Fanta to all and sundry in Lagos traffic. They all know that parading themselves as your heroes in the mould of Gani Fawehinmi will win you over. Open your eyes and mind. Read aggressively and consume knowledge like you drink water. That is the only weapon you have in a nation full of con artists. Otherwise you will find Nigeria the wrong country to belong to if your brain is empty, gullible and open to being commandeered by manipulative hacks in a nation where almost everyone is manipulating all other to get what they want. |
| Re: The Bandage With No Wound By Muhammed Balami by WizardOfNG: 5:58am On Aug 14, 2025 |
DeepSight:Are people like you for real? This is exactly what Sowore and co want. I.e control of the minds of those they think will view them freedom fighters and champions of the masses "fighting power" and the "oppressors" by shoving and wrestling police officers. They all learnt this from Fela who is a cult hero today and a figure of brave resistance against forces of oppression. The difference is that Fela was genuine and not a con artist deliberately running when no one is chasing him as is the case with your current messiahs in Sowore, VDM, Deji Adeyanju, Nnamdi Kanu, Peter Obi. Can Sowore grapple with armed USA police officers as he does regularly with Nigerian policemen? Personally I knew what Sowore was up to when I saw he turned up for his police appointment with a weekend bag. He has psychologically conned Nigeria with the visual but unspoken message that "the evil NPF will arrest, beat and detain me". Their manipulative antics and obvious hypocrisy is so crude yet you believe they are god-anointed saints "fighting power". Good luck to you. |
| Re: The Bandage With No Wound By Muhammed Balami by WizardOfNG: 6:03am On Aug 14, 2025 |
DeepSight:Lol. Perhaps people who know doing that, I.e regular incarceration, will make Nigerians view them as "fearless defenders" of the helpless, hope-deprived and downtrodden masses. In return you will then go and use your gullible fingers to thumb-print for them at election time same way you tight your fake pastors all the way to private jet and private University ownership. |

Trust is a fragile thing. In politics and activism, it should be earned through consistency, honesty, and evidence-based advocacy, not through theatrics and manipulation. Nigerians must be wary of those who treat their sympathies as pawns in a personal chess game. A society that allows itself to be swayed by the loudest victim-claimant without demanding proof risks making enemies of the wrong people and empowering those who prey on public goodwill. Sowore’s recent antics should serve as a wake-up call. Not every cry of oppression is rooted in truth, and not every bandage hides a wound.. |
| Re: The Bandage With No Wound By Muhammed Balami by WizardOfNG: 6:22am On Aug 14, 2025 |
Moromoro:Words of wisdom. The bolded highlights why many Nigerians are gullibly swayed by the antics of Sowore, VDM etal to view them as "emancipators" while they believe others are evil oppressors. |

Nigeria would be better off with "comedians" like Sowore than keyboard warriors like the op and his likes. Cowards who would die a thousand times! 90 percent of Nigerians are afraid to go to jail even once!! Say what you say,, One Sowore is better than 1000 Tinubus. One Sowore is better than 10 million Ops. |
| Re: The Bandage With No Wound By Muhammed Balami by ddippset(m): 6:54am On Aug 14, 2025 |
We have much bigger problems than Sowore. People are getting murdered in Benue and Plateau,, Hunger is unprecedented. Floods are ravaging many communities in Nigeria. Strikes are looming all over the place and in many sectors. Sowore's jests and jokes are the least of our problems right now. |

| Re: The Bandage With No Wound By Muhammed Balami by Jakumo(m): 7:04am On Aug 14, 2025 |
ddippset:I wonder sometimes whether Sowore is gainfully employed in any way, besides his hobby as a mildly amusing skit maker who loves to prank armed police officers as a means of generating content for his bored followers to watch on YouTube. Is it possible to make a living generating such repetitive, unimaginative, and frankly boring video drama content? Another thing that I find intriguing is that Sowore has never been pictured with a wife, girlfriend or family member of any description. Could this mean that he is a socially isolated and sexually frustrated loner whose only human interaction occurs when he makes a spectacle of himself by playing the buffoon over and over again like a delinquent kindergarten truant? |
| Re: The Bandage With No Wound By Muhammed Balami by ddippset(m): 10:09am On Aug 14, 2025 |
creativejagaban:Same way you only see the negative parts of Sowore's agitation. He was out there protesting over police maltreatment the other day. Una nor see that one. Truth is; Any Nigeria who spends one night in cell on account of protesting government evil in Nigeria, such person is a hero.. People like you cannot even carry placard to protest in your own street where you live. Jagaban working on the negatives! ![]() Same Jagaban that is looking like a 90 year old hag who can't even step properly? We should be ashamed of ourselves! |
