After all these new universities still no-one,not even the professors can produce "capsule" no University lecturer can produce any building material in the country.

Isn't it painful?

U will see a lecturer teaching real estate investment as a course,yet he has no land or in practical terms,he has no real pattern of doing it real life.

Same with the man teaching economics,he has no practical knowledge of it but book,book and book. That is why in today's economy,many people prefer fraud over what they were taught in schools.

Just like the man above said,open up skill acquisition centres.

One had thought that the moratorium on the establishment of new tertiary institutions would also apply to the private sector, but one was mistaken.

Most of the so-called private universities are mushroom or, at best, glorified secondary schools established just to flatter the egos of their founders.

The FG must be proactive in addressing critical challenges besetting the education sector and the time is now

Politicians now proliferating universities like they did to primary and secondary schools. No job to complement the number of graduates they turn out. The other day a graduate was lamenting how he spent over #10 million to graduate without a job. I just pity parents. Let your children learn a skill later, they will still be educated. Politicians have hijacked our educational system.

I don't know why a university has not been established around Ikeja/Ketu/Ojota/Ojodu axis in Lagos
That axis has huge potential market for a university to be established there, especially with workers from the State Secretariat and industries in the area. I am still surprised that no one has taken advantage of the opportunity in the area.
May be they are waiting until a foreign university comes and establish there before people start to rush there.

Establish more of skills acquisition centres across the country.. all the FG-owned Industrial development centres (IDC) rotting away in the 36 States can be transformed into modernized learning and skils acquisition centres for youths. This will reduce unemployment rate among the youths and help build skillful & employable youth population.

Establishing Universities here and there won't solve anything.. politicians should go outside and see the swarm of youths in Nigeria job hunting. It's usually a heart-wrenching sight most times.

Education should be balanced.. formal and skills acquisition.

These are private universities.
Have you been able to build a primary school?
Poor people always want to tell rich folks how to spend their money.
Did you start up a skill acquisition centre and didn't get approval from the government?

Quantity over Quality. How many of these universities are accredited? Would the degree be recognized abroad?...or like the Naira ...is valued only locally? No doubt ....many are and would continue to walk around with degrees looking for jobs. Most of our universities are glorified secondary schools ... higher level secondary schools.

Secondary schools feed the students with information. Universities allow students to use the information for innovation ... to break barriers...to improve existing standards ... to make discoveries . Are these universities set up to take things to next level? Except a few...when did we ever hear any of these universities make a breakthrough in anything? Let's stop fooling ourselves....we already have too many graduates walking the streets ....who are supposed to be creative thinkers ...but cannot do so to maintain themselves.... can't fish ....waiting to be fed.

Government has to fund federal universities but private universities as the name implies, are privately funded.

I just saw universities and went with the narrative. However, public or private it's enough. They should come up with a genius way of reducing the students in the overpopulated schools and increasing the students in the ones they claim have less than 100 admissions.

More universities, plenty graduates, no employment. I wonder if these people know what they're doing. Hundreds of graduates are out there without any job placement by the government, all they're swift to approve is more kangaroo universities.
