if you claim you follow all the rules in the bible, why dont you stone people to death as written in the old testament or follow the rules on how women should treated as stated in the old testament or the complex laws in the old testament.

Shebi una say new testament is the new way of life.

i know you would have no reply because of hypocrisy
Jesus addressed the adulterous woman directly, why bring it up to score cheap point?

Jesus death and resurrection created a new covenant, which replaced the old one given to Israel.

The Old Testament law was a covenant with Israel, not the whole world. The Mosaic Law (laws given to Moses) was a binding agreement between God and the nation of Israel.

This was my Mum's Reaction.

My Parents are both Pastors and according to her, "marking the body is sin"
My Dad didn't say anything.
I just love the fact that he could do that for me.
Marking ontbe body is not a sin.

Our grandparents and parents do this back in the days.

If you go to Market, you still see women with their names tattooed on their body.

My Man Tattooed His Mum's Name and Mine (Augustina and Abigail) – Has Anyone Ever Tattooed Your Name on Their Bodies?

A lady said, I can never tattoo any man's name on my body.
Man wey never marry me! 😄

I replied, my Husband tattooed my name on his leg on the 29/11/2022 before our Traditional Marriage and Wedding that was scheduled on 9/10 of December, 2022.
Next day he felt pain on the spot, I asked why was he feeling pain. He answered, haven't you watched how someone is being tattooed, I said no. He said, blood will gush out, so it must hurt. I felt the chill, Jeez!

He said it's his pre-wedding gift to me.
He went an extra mile to proof his undying love for me.
No man has ever loved me the way he did.

He said he'll tattoo our daughter's name soon.

I smiled, one significant thing is that we got our baby on same 29/11, just on a different year (2024)

You dont know your bible.who is talking about jesus and the adulttous woman

Let’s stay on the topic, we were discussing tattoos. The only explicit ban is in the Old Testament (e.g., Leviticus 19:28). The New Testament gives no command about tattoos.

You said I’m “leaving out” the Old Testament. But if you believe every Old Testament law still binds Christians, then be consistent: do you also follow the penalties like stoning, the strict purity and dietary codes, and the Old Testament rules about women and social roles? If not, you’re already making distinctions.

Christians believe Jesus fulfilled the law and introduced a new covenant. The New Testament restates the moral core but not the ceremonial and civil codes. So pulling one Old Testament verse about tattoos while ignoring many others is selective.

Bottom line: either apply the entire Old Testament code or acknowledge the New Testament framework. Singling out tattoos while discarding the rest is inconsistent and that’s the issue I’m calling out.

The old testament existed before Jesus physically came to the world as the son of God. And it contains the law.
Jesus said he has not come to abolish the law (what you referred to as Moses law) but to fulfill it.
Very clear.

Let's talk leave all the Un necessary talks. We agree the Bible, old and new cannot be subbed, they must be in sync. Jesus said he didn't come to abolish the old laws, So, if the Bible does not speak clearly on certain issue, like smoking, pornography, masturbation etc how can we know if it is good or bad? It is therefore worthy to note , that God has given us common sense, and it brings you and I to use our head. Our first question because of this argument is why would a Christian want a tatoo?

You're celebrating a tattoo on your husband, he has opened a demonic highway into your family. Tattoos are an abomination to the Lord. I don't know if you're a Christian though

You obviously don't even understand what you wrote down, you are just repeating what was written down. Do you understand the context of what Jesus meant?

Pornography and masturbation are moral issues.

There are biblical laws and also moral laws.

And there is no moral laws that say that tattoo is bad.

Moral laws in most times are culturally and also customs

In many culture and customs including Nigeria, tattoos are allowed.

It is only in the old testament, the bible wrote against tattoos to the children of Israel who were not christians.

It's you that doesn't understand the word of God. From genesis to revelation is the word of God. There can not be new testament without the old testament, both old and new testament make up the bible.
From the flood during the time of Noah, the attempted sacrifice of Isaac by abraham, God's covenant with Israelites on mount Sinai, prophecies by the prophets etc all points to Jesus Christ as the only saviour of the world.
Yes, we are in the time of grace, but the bible says we can not continue to live in sin and be praying for the grace of God to abound.
Your body is supposed to be the temple of God and it's your obligation to keep it holy.
No born again Christians that are still commiting sin can make the kingdom of God because God is not a sinner and anyone that will worship Him must worship Him in spirit, holiness and truth.

And you know the history behind tattoo - it is ritualistic, yes cultural but that ritualistic aspect cannot be ruled out. And as a Christian you are waiting for an explicit directive from the new testament to tell you before you adhere - you will wait forever. That's why I mentioned God's gift of common sense. Didn't the Bible warn us about being in conformity with the things of the world. In that we start adapting the world behavior, beliefs, trends or values to align with the prevailing norms and trends of society. Soon, you will tell me it's the old testament that talked about homosexuality, since it wasn't mentioned in the new testament morally there isn't anything wrong with being a gay!

do you know that jesus deing on the cross and his blood used to watch your sins is ritualistic and symbolic... it is similar to tattoos, they are ritualistic and symbolistic just like Jesus blood.

So you have not heard about the new research on the terrible effects of tattoos on the human body? Tell him the ink eventually poisons his system on the long run. He had better stop turning his body into canvas for people's names.

Ritualistic and symbolic unto the old practice of shedding of blood of lambs according to the old testament for the remmison of sin. Tattoos isn't similiar, it's patterned towards pegan rituals for protection, fertility, identity, status and also reincarnation etc that's why you have cultist during initiation a mark on your body is cut with a symbol as an identity. As a Christian you invite what you don't know when you begin to conform to the world's standars, you ought to influence the world not the other way round. However, all these been said The Bible speaks about people like you who prefer to hear messages that align with their desires rather than true doctrine. 2Tim4:3.You wish your own message despite Old testament warnings, God's gift of Common sense and the New testament. Why will a sensible person choose to disfigure what God made perfect?

If that is you and your upper arm right in the pic, I can indeed affirm that your tats blend perfectly into your skin complexion and it's in one of the best body locations. What made you to do that kind of tat design?

BUT as a lover of all kinds of art forms since my younger years (I scored an A in my final year art examination in high school), I like to see tats that are still a bit smaller than yours (even abstract designs) on specific body locations for women.
Just pure sensuous works of art that further enhance the beauty of the skin.
