Terrorism: Canadian Court Should Not Have joined Us With Tinubu & APC - PDP by fergie001(mod): 8:34am On Aug 15, 2025
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports that a Canadian court has designated Nigeria’s two main political parties, the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as terrorist organisations.

The Federal Government is, however, expected to issue a formal response today, senior government officials told Daily Trust yesterday, describing the matter as “an embarrassing development”.

Speaking to Daily Trust, PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) member, Timothy Osadolor, said while the Canadian court had a right to express its opinion, it did not make such claims factual.

“But there is nothing in their opinion and their right to express it that makes whatever they have said true,” Osadolor said.

He argued that instead of labelling the entire political structures in Nigeria, the Canadian court should have targeted individuals linked to terrorism, particularly within the APC.

“There are credible Nigerians in the APC, not to mention a credible platform like the PDP, which was unfairly lumped together with a party that has brought ignominy to Nigeria and Nigerians. The Canadian Government overreached by joining the PDP alongside the APC as a party linked to terrorism,” he said.

Osadolor described the ruling as a vote of no confidence in the Nigerian government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging the administration to take the matter seriously.

“President Tinubu may not be linked to terrorism, but his ineptitude and inability to fight it head-on have made him a victim of terror networks currently ravaging Nigerian states. Instead of focusing on state security for all Nigerians, over 90 per cent of his efforts have gone into regime security,” he said.

He added that the court’s ruling should serve as “a wake-up call” for the president.

Efforts to get the APC’s reaction and that of the Federal Government were unsuccessful as of press time. APC spokespersons, Felix Morka and Bala Ibrahim, did not respond to calls and messages, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, has not replied to the message sent to him.

However, a senior government official said the ministry would issue a formal response once the ruling’s authenticity is confirmed.

“Immediately we authenticate it, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will issue the government’s formal reaction, and we expect the parties to defend themselves,” the official, who asked not to be named, said.

Both the PDP and APC are terrorist organizations. Canada and other sane countries should go further and declare their supporters terrorists too, and deny them coming into their country.

If they are all the same then why were we more prosperous under deregulation and privatison PDP capitalists?

All that changed when ebilokan made his expired northerner a replacement for his fellow southerner Jonathan.

thisweekng:
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

Is that why dollar and petrol was so cheap under PDP without a heavy debt overhang on the country huh

anonimi:
Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

January 19, 2015

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

Opposition is at its lowest. Such a reckless comment from PDP chieftain.
No more constructive criticism and appraisal when due.
All comments are just to derail the other party. Both the ruling and opposition parties are guilty of political ineptitude.

Their judgement was based on Obasanjo's administration under PDP. 😁

"Justice Ngo’s ruling last month upheld that conclusion.

to the decision was the PDP’s violent record during the 2003 state elections and 2004 local government polls, when it controlled the federal government and most states during the tenure of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. The IAD found, and the judge agreed, that PDP members and loyalists engaged in ballot stuffing, ballot box snatching, voter intimidation, and the killing of opposition supporters and candidates".

How we foiled Jonathan’s effort to make Mulika Adeola Speaker, Akande reveals

AS president in 2011, Goodluck Jonathan did all he could to ensure South West grabbed the country’s number four seat, including lobbying then opposition leaders from the zone, to no avail. The North West eventually grabbed the seat, supported by South West leaders in opposition to then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Former Governor of Osun State and now statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, made this revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations” which is currently dominating political and national dis- course.

Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West. Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.

The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.

In his book, Chief Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.

He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.

The persistence of killings by bandits and terrorists will make any rational being wonder...for almost 15 years after spending trillions, are we saying we can't route out or haven't yet figured out how to stop this killings by bandits and terrorists?

No serious nation, no thriving nation will take the political class in Nigeria or us serious, if we can't protect the lives of the people, this is a shame and a disgrace, and yet politicians are driving Rolls-Royce and Maybachs, spending billions on food yearly, and we say we can't procure enough materials to send these terrorists running from Nigeria...that is why a rational man will see a sinister motive, the unwillingness to end it...seems a class, group or set of people benefits or want this to continue, this is the only rational conclusion.

The political class must get their act together.

Like there is any difference between political parties?

PDP that had a servicing minister assassinated?

Or the politically motivated assassinations during election buildup?

They are all the same, this is why politicians find it so easy to cross carpet

Nigerian political parties have no ideology or manifestos.

They are nothing but cobbled together election winning contraptions, nothing else.
Re: Terrorism: Canadian Court Should Not Have joined Us With Tinubu & APC - PDP by authority2006(m):
PDP defence line shouldn't have even been like this. Is it even right for Canadian Court to list ruling party in the most populous black nation a terrorist organisation to begin with? It doesn't even make sense and it shouldn't make sense to any right thinking Nigerian. But you know, many Nigerians love to play politics with anything to their own detriment due to their short sightedness
