Chief Dr. Willie Obiano Manifesto and History Impeccable! by biafranqueen: 10:24pm On Sep 18, 2013
I have spoken to people I know in business that this man has made millionaires today. His achievements are verifiable and his record is clean. He is not a businessman but a servant to business owners and the people they employ. Let us try someone that does not have a questionable political career that has not improved the state. When you compare Peter Obi to other Governors in Igboland he has done well. Even though I have bashed him and exposed him time and time again on this forum for all to see, when I researched other Governors I realized he is one of the best! We keep saying no more illiterates with questionable back grounds. If anyone has any scandal to prove on this man speak now or forever hold your peace! Let us vote with wisdom. Please take time to read a write up about our new Governor and let us hold him accountable as shareholders held him in the banking business. I have a gut feeling he will change our State for the better!

Chief Willie Maduabuchi Obiano was born 56 years ago in the oil-bearing Aguleri town, in Anambra North Senatorial District to an educationist father and an entrepreneurial mother. A remarkable child, young Willie inherited both genes of his parents, eventually becoming an exemplary scholar and a successful banker and entrepreneur.
Willie’s father was a famous headmaster and disciplinarian who led the exemplary life a “bringer-of-light,” planting schools from Otuocha to Atani and inculcating the values of scholarship and hard-work in children from Umuoba Anam to Nsugbe. He was highly respected in his time for his uprightness, high integrity and great sense of community. He was a quintessential teacher who brought his children up in the strictest discipline. Young Willie’s mother on the other hand was highly enterprising and visionary. She was a hugely successful merchant who sold mangala in Otu-Onitsha market. Her friends respected her business acumen and her high sense of style and gregarious spirit. She was a socialite of sorts who carried herself well among her friends and admirers. Chief Willie took after her in his now famous sartorial tastes.

Following in the footsteps of his father, young Willie Obiano embraced early education. He started from the mission schools where he imbibed his early Christian values and preceded to the prestigious Christ the King’s College, Onitsha where he showed a remarkable academic promise and passed out as one of the best students in his time. He gained admission to the University of Lagos to study Accountancy and graduated with a Second Class Upper Division Honours.

Riding on the back of his impressive academic performance, Willie Obiano quickly got his first job with First Bank and subsequently joined the lucrative oil and gas industry as a staff of Texco International where he rapidly rose to become the company’s Chief Internal Auditor with extensive oversight functions on the internal processes of the company in Nigeria and overseas. After years of functioning at the top level in the oil and gas sector, Willie then moved his enormous expertise and exposure from that sector to Fidelity Bank Plc.

His arrival in Fidelity Bank marked a dramatic turn in the fortunes of the bank. As the Executive Director in charge of Business Banking, Chief Willie was the leader of the core banking business and effectively deployed his vast entrepreneurial mind to attracting quality risk assets and high end businesses to the bank. He also facilitated high profile partnerships and brokered paradigm-changing equity arrangements that firmly placed the bank on the global financial map. More importantly, Chief Willie managed the bank’s vast human and material resources with the dexterity of grandmaster in the game of chess, deploying talent and resources seamlessly to ensure a calculated expansion of the business and a healthy growth of the bottom line.

As an administrator, Obiano was almost flawless; deploying carrot and stick with great wisdom and tact – showing as much firmness as compassion as the circumstances demanded. As a leader, Obiano showed tremendous charisma and personal charm at Fidelity, attracting the young Turks and the best brains around him and mentoring them to a point of self-possession. His greatest joy was to see the people who passed through him rise through the ranks to top management positions, handling big responsibilities and contributing to the bottom-line.
Chief Willie was the life of the party. At the bank’s Annual General Meetings and Long Service Awards, his awesome presence and engaging charm gave the evenings the needed ceremonial air. He always stood out in the crowd, interspacing infectious humour with sharp anecdotes full of business wisdom. Last year, he retired gloriously from his position as Fidelity Bank’s second in command after almost 10 years of meritorious service.

Chief Willie also had extensive professional trainings in Harvard Business School and Stanford University both the USA. He has an MBA in Marketing from the University of Lagos. In the course of his career, Obiano attended numerous courses including Credit and Trade Services at Citi Bank, New York, Treasury and Money Market at Northwest London, Emerging Markets at FIM Bank, Malta and Managing Integration Process at Houston Texas, USA in 2006.

One of the greatest qualities of Chief Willie Obiano is his philanthropic spirit and his willingness to help people in need. He is known to have secretly operated a Foundation that has offered scholarships to many people from Anambra North Senatorial district. He is also a pillar of the church who has made extensive donations and contributions to diverse development projects in the Catholic Church, the Anglican Church and some Pentecostal churches across Nigeria. Consequently, he has won many honours from the church including a recognition from the Catholic Diocese of Onitsha (2008), another from the Catholic Association for Communication, Nigeria (2011) and yet another from St Gerald Catholic Church Gbagada as the Grand Pillar of the Parish in 2010. Obiano was also honoured as the patron of St. Gerald’s Catholic Church, Gbagada Parish (2008) and Catholic Artists and Entertainers Association of Nigeria. He is a winner of the Role Model of the Year 2009 organized by the Maribet Consult and the Catholic Women Association of Nigeria as well as winner of the Career Excellence Award from the Awka Development Union in 2008.

The manifesto is even more detailed and impressive than that of Soludo. I like the fact that he recognises already existing and working programmes and policies (eg YOUWIN, ANIDS, working relationships with the church, FG agric reforms) which he has to key into and hit the ground running. That will save valuable time. His manifesto also indirectly recognises the short falls in Peter Obi's regime and proffered solutions or way forward. But no mention was made of how to raise the state's internally generated revenue. That is a disappointing omission. But all the same, great manifesto. Implementation is where the problem lies.

All jokes aside please add a link to this post that shows someone else's plan for our state. While you're add it list the achievements of other Governors past and present that did better then Obi in Igboland or lipsrsealed

I really want to know what the other candidates have to show in their life achievements?

That is exactly why I said it's a good manifesto BUT it has a problem, no where does it say how he intends to raise revenue, which puts us back to the status quo, is he ready? Can he do the job? Any manifesto that doesn't address how to increase the states revenue is a complete joke.

biafranqueen: I assumed through business taxes and PPP partnerships he would generate revenues.

This is ambiguous, it's an open-ended statement that needs to be refined. When you say taxes, what types of taxes? Income taxes, Small Business taxes, Corporate taxes, Exercise Tax, Property Taxes, like seriously, what types of taxes? After he has said what types, I would expect to see some kind tax administration on how to effectively go about this, this is exactly what madam NOI is doing right now. She's effectively synchronizing the FG system, through FIRS, she setup an effective tax system - personal and corporate taxes - though she has a long way to go, but she has initiated the process. So I'd like to see something different in Anambra.

That's my point about him, his resume is VERY IMPRESSIVE, I got to give him that, but his unholy association with Peter Obi is what disturbs me. The man NEVER declared candidacy, at least, not that I know of, Obi picked him, as of last month, we never really heard about him. This will explain why Obi said he hasn't found anyone capable of replacing him. If Peter Obi picked him without him declaring himself or fighting his way forward, that means that he's Obi's puppet, for sure. Anambra is an important state to be controlled by one man and his bank, other than this concern, I think he may be a good candidate.

This manifesto sounds more like a third term for the visionless Peter Obi. God Forbid! We need fresh air.

biafranqueen:
I mean people are here running mouth like they have seen anyone better. Like I have stated I am not a big Obi fan but show me someone that has done as much in the East as he has. All jokes aside please add a link to this post that shows someone else's plan for our state. While you're add it list the achievements of other Governors past and present that did better then Obi in Igboland or lipsrsealed

I really want to know what the other candidates have to show in their life achievements?
These are the lies that make me continue to expose Peter Obi? I guess Peter obi has done more than Chime and Rochas. Heck, you can't even convince us he has done more than Orji and Ebonyi if put to a debate

Hahaha! How long will it take him to achieve that? 8 YEARS. cheesy cheesy cheesy grin

Sound exactly like Peter Obi, such a waste. No strategic positioning of the entire eastern economy

Umuigbo will continue seeking greener pastures in Lagos, Abuja and Kidnapping.

Truely a sad state of affair.

Obazi can do similar as a Vice to Soludo.

Anambra is the gate way to the east and the entire eastern economy needs to be re-positioned.

Soludo was the man for that job. Peter AdaObi na god go punish u. angry
