In this video, we’re diving into a viral statement that’s shaking the Nigerian internet — a Yoruba elder has unleashed a fiery blast at the Igbos, and his words have sparked serious debate across the country.

It all started with a controversial bill at the Senate — one that seeks to establish the National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria. The bill has already passed its second reading, but it’s now attracting heated reactions.

First came the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, claiming the Igbos were marginalised and excluded. Then the Concerned Hausa Stakeholders spoke out too — insisting the Sultan of Sokoto is only a spiritual head, not the traditional head of the North. But the Yoruba elder? He took this conversation in a direction nobody expected.

He reminded Nigerians of the deep historical background — from the Fulani conquest of the old Habe dynasty, to the creation of warrant chiefs in the East in 1929, and the formation of the House of Chiefs in the North and West. He argued that the East never had a centralised traditional institution like the North and West — and because of that, they can’t demand to lead the new council if it’s created.

But that wasn’t the most explosive part. The elder went on to accuse Igbos of forgetting their history and holding on to territorial ambitions “flowing in their blood since 1922.” He questioned why Igbos claim indigeneship in Lagos, and even linked attacks on Igbos in Ghana and South Africa to this alleged ambition.

He didn’t stop there — he pointed at the Biafra agitations led by Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa, accusing Igbo elders of keeping silent instead of condemning it. And then came the line that has everyone talking — according to him, if the Igbos want to be truly integrated into the Nigerian project, to gain the trust and confidence of other ethnic groups, and to one day have the authority to rule this country — they must purge themselves of their intransigence… or forget it.

Just shows you his level of delusion and misplaced feelings of ethnic superiority! His anger is that Ndigbo don't want to support the elevation of his Yoruba and their Fulani ally traditional rulers over those of others! Warrant chiefs in igboland or not does that make it right for the ooni of ife and the Sardauna of Sokoto to be made permanent chairmen over hundreds of ethnic groups in Nigeria? Were igbos or the other ethnic groups in Nigeria under the ooni of ife or the Sardauna of sokoto at any point in history?

Questions 2 , were there Nigerian troops both northerners and yorubas in biafra fighting and killing Biafrans yes or no? The head of state Gowon was he in Lagos or not? Were igbos or easterners not killed in Lagos Ibadan etc or not? Who was in charge of Biafrans troops that were sent to reach Lagos in 24 hours was it a Yoruba man or not?


If the bill sponsored by the igbo sanator is useless, why will yorubas want igbos and other ethnic group to support the bill that will make a Yoruba king and a Fulani spiritual leader permanent chairmen of the Nigerian traditional council?
