Please I have verified the proof of ownership certificate on the FRSC National Vehicle Identification System and it was a positive result. It showed the following information

Vehicle registration number
Owner's Name
Chassis No
Engine No
Vehicle Color
Vehicle Make
Vehicle Model
Vehicle Category
POC Expiry Date
Road Worthiness Expiry Date

I have also verified the new vehicle license on Autoreg platform and it was successful. It showed the following information

Make
Model
Color
Chassis
VL Amount
VALIDITY & EXPIRY
VEHICLE LICENSE
Expiry
Validity

Please is there still a need for me to proceed to Abuja for any regularization? Thank you

JUST NOTE THAT IF ANYTHING HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE AND THEY WILL NEED TO VERIFY THE RIGHTFUL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE......THEY WILL ONLY CONTACT THE LICENSING STATE THAT THE PLATE NUMBER BELONGS TO.

Ok, good evening everyone.

Imagine a situation where by someone buys a foreign used car, custom papers cleared, even verified the custom paper, and everything is legit.

However at the point of registering the car in autoreg, it was discivered there is a registered car with same VIN.

Further tracing shows the car has a lagos number, and a colour different from what the car looks like online.

Also on autoreg the registered car does not have an engine number.

On NVIS the plate number shows however you cant find the VIN on NVIS

What do you think has happened and what is the way forward for the new buyer whose car is the legit one.
