don't you think you need to travel outside Lagos and interact with other Nigerians so that you don't keep this mentality that everything revolves around Lagos?

The way you people hype this Lagos, one would think it's one place where gold and diamonds are picked on a daily basis.......

But on a norm,an average lagosian no crase reach an average warri person angry. Just that,we don't believe and rely on mere words,na action full our body......
Abegi make we here, I have lived in both City. No city in Nigeria can be compare to Lagos. Forget the hype about warri no dey carry last.
Anywhere in Nigeria is a child's play compare to Lagos in anything.

Everybody know each other.!Mind you na full old Warri dey yarn so. Lagos gave me that smartness and alertness, always on guard and this same OT help me navigate my ways abroad and everywhere I go.

So in Lagos, when everybody goes to school, everywhere will still be noisy?

Who and who will be making everywhere noisy after everyone has gone to school?

Does you mean that no Nigerian is smart and alert except they grew up in Lagos?

That means Nigerian who has gone abroad will not be able to navigate their way because they did not grow up in Lagos.

What exactly are you always on guard for?
It’s obvious you don’t know or had never been to Lagos. Noise from school pupils is a negligible part of Lagos noise!

I am a Nigerian from northern part of the country currently living outside Nigeria. I have lived in the United States and the United Kingdom and I can tell you that there is no single developed country in the world without slums

Lagosian, in this context , include anyone born and raised in Lagos, whether Igbo, Hausa , Efik, Ijaw or Yoruba. Any Yoruba or Lagos indigenes born in the North or South cannot exhibit the 'Lagosian' mannerisms

since you know Lagos and have been to Lagos, I am surprised that you could not answer my questions.

1. So in Lagos, when everybody goes to school, everywhere will still be noisy?

2. Who and who will be making everywhere noisy after everyone has gone to school?

3. Do you mean that no Nigerian is smart and alert except they grew up in Lagos?

4. That means Nigerian who has gone abroad will not be able to navigate their way because they did not grow up in Lagos.

5. What exactly are you always on guard for?

Re: How To Spot A Lagosian Anywhere In The World by McBishop2020: 3:11pm On Aug 15, 2025
The questions should be:
1. Which part of Lagos? Not all the areas in Lagos had these attributes.
2. Have you checked Onitsha in Anambra?
3. Have you checked Holy Ghost in Enugu?
4. Have you checked Aba in Abia State?

These areas are market-wise areas and anyone who grew up within these market areas would have the same attributes with which you have qualified the whole of Lagosians.

I stand to be corrected.
Re: How To Spot A Lagosian Anywhere In The World by Kalulu44: 3:14pm On Aug 15, 2025
Monday morning rush in Lagos alone will make anyone who have lived in Lagos to be smart anywhere in the world.
As a driver I have been and lived in many parts of Naija except the northern region. I can say it with full confidence that there's no city or town in Naija that's more smart and has street credibility than Lagos.
The rushing to board a bus by someone in other cities will show you that's a Lagosian or have lived in Lagos. A Lagosian can't converse with you for up to 30min without reminding you of how this and that is not how it's done or not done in Lagos.

Though very confident, that politeness also gives us away. We show that Yoruba courtesy to people too.

And there are some sentences in English that will be the literal translation of Yoruba sayings that only you can pick as cue that the person is from Lasgidi wink

Let me donate a response.
1 &2. In Lagos, Business, vehicle and Economics activity generated 90% of the noise, not students. Like he said, students (both secondary and university) are not even measured in the Lagos noise mix.

3. Every Nigeria is smart but Lagos is something else. The economy activity is super fast and you need a different mindset to keep up.

4. Not a relevant argument.

5. Lagos have the good the Bad and the ugly. It's not a "community" environment, where you know everybody and everyone knows you in the community and if someone default on his arrangement, you will report to the elder. Lagos is all man for himself. So you have to be on guard and protect your interest and avoid doing business with anyone without a verifiable address.

Lastly, Lagos is not the best place to live, just that most lagosian are born and brought up in the system.

Does your claim refute the fact that Lagos is a slum?

We are all Nigerians and wish for a better city than the Lagos we have now. You even saw hatred in my writing for calling a spade a spade.

You won't understand until you stay in Lagos for like 5 years.

I am presenting in Port Harcourt for work, and I can tell you for a fact Port Harcourt is chill, like the agbero here are very friendly, even police just do routine check, very chill.

In Lagos, even with my emblem, police will still stop you and will tell you to introduce yourself, can I meet you.😂😂

When you want to pick anyone up, you have to be watching like you stole something, same thing when you want to drop off.

When you are trying, you are always in a hurry because there is a good chance there will be traffic somewhere.

Lagosians are friendly people who know how to mix and mingle. However, there are neighbouring states of Lagos that are intent on causing ethnic bigotry.

1. So you mean that in Lagos, when everybody goes to school, everywhere will still be noisy? Yes or no

2. How did you arrive at your 90%?

3. Who and who will be making everywhere noisy after everyone has gone to school?

4. How is Lagos “something else”? something like what?

5. How is the “economy activity” in Lagos fast? Fast in what way?

6. Can you show me the argument you are referring to that you say is not relevant?

bukitt:

7. Is there any state in Nigeria or is there where in the world that you do not find the good, the bad and the ugly?

8. So if you go to Akwa Ibom state for instance, does everybody know everybody?

9. So you mean that in Lagos nobody knows each other

10. How is “Lagos all man for himself”?

11. The schools that you say children go to, how are they going to the schools if “Lagos is all man for himself”?

12. So people do not go to churches, mosque or mix with each other in Lagos?

13. Which one is “avoid doing business with anyone without a verifiable address”?
