We used to have a Social study teacher by the name, Mr Afolabi. That man was a Wizard, merely seeing his car entering the school compound will make everyone run to their class.

And if he should catch you loitering, you will pick the whole school premises.

I must not forget, anytime he tells a student to go and kneel under his table in the staff room, just know he won't tell you to stand again.

No matter how long you spend under his table it will be his fellow teacher who will tell you to go to your class, nobody knows why.

Some guys were really ballsy back in secondary school. Meeks was laid on a table in the staff room and was to bel flogged for repeatedly sagging and flying his shirt, man jumped down from the table and bailed. The full staff room and the prefects there just looked on in astonishment.

He sha got flogged the following Monday in front of the school.

That weekend he played basketball like nothing was amiss. Guys get mind sha.

I’ve always hated school and don’t miss a darn thing about any of the schools I’ve attended. Antisocial from day 1 😒

The memorable times for me were not so bad in general staff room and mind you i was class captain so i went there kind of frequently.
The first memorable incident was then my english teacher sent for me and i wondered what i had done or what was wrong only to get there and be greeted with wide smiles and praises, your essay was so beautiful and alive,it was like i was there as everything you wrote was happening, you write so well.

2nd time: the commerce teacher sent for me, my expectation was that she had marked our exam scripts and wanted to give them to me to distribute as class rep
Commerce teacher: i have marked your scripts but i have a small problem, your own script, your handwriting is terrible i cant see it. So u are gonna read out your answers and i will mark them it right now.
I ended scoring very very well and i wasnt really bothered.

My experience!
A girl insulted me for being a fatherless child, she said how's my mum footing my bills and that of my sisters despite being a widow,, she said my mom is an ahawo, meeanwhile, my mom was working as ckerk at the federal ministry of works and housing, and earning a moderate amount, it got me infuriated, i insulted her father who is a policeman, i told her i used see her father on Alimosho roads collecting bribe, that I used to see her fatther whenever he wanted to pay her school fees in the bursar's office, thats its always bundles of 10 and 20 naira that he collected as bribes.
She started crying and left biology lab to staff room to report me to Mr Peter, i was summoned to the staff room and severely beaten beyong recognition.
I later reported to the school owner and director who investigated the case and got to know that Mr Peter dealt with me because he was dating the girl.
Mr Peter was later queried and sacked later.

I belong to the old school cadre. My school was the best in the whole of South East during my time. Government college Umuahia, an elite secondary school where discipline was top notch. The school sits on a large expanse of land and boasts of 2 standard football fields, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a lawn tennis court and farm lands for teachers and agric practicals for students. The staff room was off limits for students except when class monitors assisted form teachers to carry stuff. Prefects handled all sorts of disciplinary actions. If your matter gets to the staff room, it was as an impossible case that might lead to expulsion.

It's was the year 1993 Lagos state model college igbonla. I was in jss2 at the time, during our CRK class the female teacher was teaching us about the virgin Mary. During the class I ask the teacher if she was a virgin. Obviously she didn't ans. She was embarrassed and match me to the staff room. Funny enough when the other teachers mostly (male) asked what my offence was , she couldn't say. They ask me to speak and I told them I asked a simple question. They all started laughing. But at the end received 12 lashes ( with enough punishment) and had to cut grass for a week.

Standard mode of operation of those staff rooms. Chai those staff rooms can be very large then. Nowadays no more large staff rooms like before
