The wars both (are) fought/fighting aren't even similar. Stalin's wars were expansion based. Putin's war started as defensive to protect Russia's territory even though the objective of the war may have shifted from the initial plans.

In any case both aren't needless wars, especially Putin's!

They have seen their nyash opened and have successfully closed it. If this war continues, Russia will capture Kiev in the next 12 months and annex all of Ukraine

It was the daftest move ever. He should simply have built up his army and nuclear defense and waited for Nato to strike and if NATO ever struck wrapped missiles with red ribbon and launched. He was way to hasty. Had he waited he would be singing the popular tune from the middle east " Right to Defend itself ". Look at Hitler in a hurry to conquer the world. Sit down, wait and gift wrap missiles for delivery is the best way to look like the good guy.

why wont He be paranoid when His next door neighbour joins a coalition with His enemies. They could set up logistics and set up shop just right beside them.
