There are many credible leaders who are not in politics that can make good presidents. it doesn't have to be a past governor or senator. |

Shawarmagirl:Quote me anywhere, if the mentalities of igbos remain this way. You guys will continue to complain about XENOHOBIA and MARGINALISATION EVERYWHERE AND ALL THE TIME. The only igbos that have ever added value to igboland are the people you call incompetent. You will soon see XENOPHOBIA from Yorubas. |
Ngozi okonjo Iweala Soludo Umahi Bianca These are the only marketable Igbo that can win election in Nigeria presently. Count Peter Obi out of it because of his divisive and ethnoreligious campaign couple with his abysmal performance as governor. Obi can only remain a presidential candidate,he can't be. President
As well as saying Nigeria can never be great. Fight against Obi is external force, whites who has sworn that Afica can never be free, but one day..... ![]() |

Remove Abaribe from that list. Man has not done anything apart from playing the Biafran kite when elections are close. |

If the OP’s list is anything to go by, then Ibos won’t produce a Nigerian president for a long time to come. Seems they can’t stand an Ibo with a liberalist mindset like Umahi, Soludo e.t.c |

Abaribe is a political 419. He only knows how to pretend. I even prefer OUK . As for Ngigie he is worse than Buhari. So proud yet cowardly |

Lalasdiva:I don’t totally agree with your claim, I can only pick two from the numbers which are: 1. Mr. Peter Gregory Obi 2. Dr. Alex Chioma Otti The rest of them aren’t up to the task when you talk about being a patriot, at this point Nigeria does not need a politician who is out to satisfy his political parties or ambitions Nigeria need a selfless leader who can actually pilot the affairs of the common Nigerians |

Ttalk:Coming from a bittered soul. Okonjo Iweala has never been a politician. She is an administrator know that and have peace. Soludo is a jealous politicians who talk more than he has done or achieved. David Umahi can't even win any alection outside of Ebonyi. The rest I can't say. Peter Obi,Alex Otti and Aberibe are the biggest politician in the east currently and outside igbo land. These are men that have shown to be respected across igbo land. Soludo is a bittered politician just as u are and nothing more. Since 1914 to date,Peter Obi is the only politician whose achievements eclipsed any other polictician. Additionally, since 1999 to date we have had about 170 governors non performed more than Peter Obi not even those Politicians in Lagos with all their monies. |

saintcasmir:Over the Niger River in Onitsha, crossing to Asaba, and its immediate neighbouring towns and cities are many Igbo descendants who migrated there from time immemorial, who proudly identify themselves as Igbos, though living in delta region. Therefore renown Igbo men and women like Iwealla, Emefiele, Elumelu and Ned Nwoko are Igbos, and identify as such. Going further, the list made up by the poster are the politicians loved by the Igbo people, but for the rest us who are non-Igbos, it is Soludo for now. Because he understands the trans regional Nigeria politics. |

tunjijones:If your claim that whoever Igbo support for president has never won is valid, then it goes to say that Igbos have not contributed to the reason Nigeria keeps retrogressing. Igbos are rated as smart people in Nigeria for a reason. They support competence irrespective of tribe and religion because they know they have a stake in whoever emerges as president given their population spread, as well as business and entrepreneurial acumen across regions. Only those with phobia of staying outside their region vote along petty sentiments just to brag; "my tribesman is the president" on an empty stomach. |
| Re: Four Most Marketable Presidential Materials In The South East by NOETHNICITY(m): 10:59am On Aug 16, 2025 |
Shawarmagirl:If I ask why many Igbos wouldn’t vote for politicians like Soludo or Umahi—both of whom have demonstrable proven track records—the answer definitely won’t lie in performance. Because Obi was a complete failure as governor. Rather, it often comes down to sentiment: the search for a politician who embodies a particular ethnic narrative. In this context, it’s less about governance credentials and more about identity and tribal alignment. |

Lalasdiva:You should have given at least 2 notable achievements of the enlisted candidates to back your claims, but you ended up glorying in speculations. I'll say it loud and clear, all of the enlisted candidates and more (not listed), deserve the type of government you have in the amalgamated area, but none of the enlisted candidates, deserve the seat of the presidency for a progressive nation, because they lack clear cut vision, as evident in their execution of mediocre projects, media hype, image laundry, corruption and stylish support for police brutality. The only presidential material from the south east, is one who refused to be bought over at any cost, an incorruptible fellow who believes in his vision; fearless, courageous in the face of tyranny and death, a character with an utter disdain for judicial banditry, an advocate for constitutional self defense, a champion of self discovery for indigenous people. |

Johnbulll:That’s why he isn’t marketable. If your votes were alone to make him president then his opinion as a non ibo voter would not matter. This thread is about marketable. Marketable is not about who you the ibo man likes but who the market (rest of (Nigeria) will accept. You can take a winter coat to Russia and Canada and sell loads but it is unmarketable in Nigeria no matter how brilliant the design or quality of the winter coat. You can do adverts and marketing campaigns till the chickens come home, it won’t sell in Nigeria. If you want to sell a product in Nigeria, you bring one the Nigerians can accept…one suitable for the Nigerian market. Trying to market people like Obi and Abaribe is like trying to sell a winter coat in Nigeria. Ab initio he is a bad product for the market. I keep telling people, everybody acknowledges that Awo would have been a great president but he never became president because he wasn’t marketable outside Yoruba land….. Tinubu and OBJ became president because they were marketable outside Yoruba land. Yorubas don’t like OBJ but that was who it took to produce a Yoruba president. The day you people understand that your opinion does not matter and that what matters is the opinion of the non ibos is the day you begin the journey to an ibo presidency. Your fixation on Obi has set you back 40yrs because as it stands, the next southern president is coming from the SS which means the next slot for the ibos is 2055. None of the people mentioned in this thread wil be in the reckoning then. The youngest of them Obi will be 94! You have to understand your market before you attempt to market a product. You are not the market! You don’t decide for the market and try and force it down the market. Assuming Obi is even a good product, the product is not the market. You don’t conduct market research by asking the same people who created the product, you conduct market research by asking the target market. The target market are non ibo voting public. When you see an overwhelming response of Umahi and Soludo, and a rejection of the names listed that is your market research. That is the non ibos telling you the type of a ibo candidates they are comfortable with. The choice is yours. Continue to push an unsellable product or introduce another product. |

Oga pls remove umahi name from there. He has fainted himself a lot by always speaking against the igbos. Unless it’s non igbos that can vote for him. How will u win an election if your people are not supporting you? This question goes to umahi, joe igbokwe and any other igbo politician who think they can do without their base. Ttalk: |

Shawarmagirl:So you are really saying Umahi and Soludo are not better than those guys. The two great men have chances far higher than others to be president or vice president. Ngige thou he did most of the work than obi as governor and yet Anambaraians still voted him out as senator just because he identified with APC. Otti is overrated as governor and abaribe is a failed senator who only use free nmandi kanu to decieve the brainless abians. Obi is a tribal and religious bigot. |
