Lol.....infantile analysis

KobolanderSegun:
It was the daftest move ever. He should simply have built up his army and nuclear defense and waited for Nato to strike and if NATO ever struck wrapped missiles with red ribbon and launched. He was way to hasty. Had he waited he would be singing the popular tune from the middle east " Right to Defend itself ". Look at Hitler in a hurry to conquer the world. Sit down, wait and gift wrap missiles for delivery is the best way to look like the good guy.

You haven't explained why it's a needless war...

Also take time to explain why you think Putin is paranoid!
I was also going to use exactly the same word to reply you.
You should be explaining how the annexation of crimea and invasion of Ukraine is a defensive war?
Ukraine was no match in anything,I repeat anything to Russia.
I know you won't see anything abnormal in 3 different generations having a ruler like Russia is heaven grin grin

That's a major part of what brings them together, greed for power.
Ever wondered what Nigeria would be like if Obasanjo were to be contesting for president as an incumbent in 2027?
Putin rewrote the constitution to make him ruler for life after using his puppet Medvedev.

I really don't have to explain the reasons for the war...

Because that's open source information. The onion is on the person I quoted to say why the reasons given by Russia to defend her sovereignty or the reasons Putin gave for going to war is "needless".

Ukraine is no match for Russia I'm assuming that's your reason for the war being needless according to you. huh shocked

How is the number of generations that have ruled Russia sopposed to be your problem again? Is Russia not a sovereign country with rights to it's own internal affairs? And besides, is that the topic or focus on the table of my discussion or comment?

can you tell me how many people are going to Russia for green pastures, apart of selling military machine to Africa what else did Russia have.mention one products in Nigeria that is made in Russia. Russia only survive because he is part of Europe if not they would have finished them
Apart from Hollywood and propaganda (which you obviously bought), mention 4 products in Nigeria today that is made in America.

If you know how rich Africa is and how much potential Africa has, then you'll know that no African should be going to America for "greener pastures", at least not the way we go about it - Borrow, sell properties, family house and land etc. With all the riches on our land, have you never wondered why Africa is still poor?

Yes, Russia sell military machines to the Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso because America won't sell them to us and they are the ones sponsoring insurgencies and terrorism in Africa, keeping Africa suppressed and dependent.

In addition to selling arms to the Sahel, Russia deal with African leaders with mutual respect, buys our resources at fair price. Go to Niger and Burkina Faso and see the development they've made. America and the collective West are buying our resources for pennies, imposing puppets on us as head of states and keeping us in debt traps through IMF, WTO etc. That's Neo-colonialism.

And no, Russia's survival is not dependent on Europe. Russia is actually a transcontinental country, much of it is in Asia and since Europe placed sanctions on Russia, where did Putin turn to? Yes he turned to Asia and the global south.

I know there are sources to information in the media but i don't see anything outside of paranoia for that invasion after annexing Crimea in 2014.
How is it a defensive war is what I'm very much confused about?
As for greed for power, you can let that slide because I'm not surprised with your opinion on that.

He even had to rewrite the constitution using his puppet Medvedev to achieve that.
The implications will start showing after his demise, when the second cadre of policy makers (definitely not one) would begin to see themselves as equals.
Because as president (with the constitution on your side) and those resources at your disposal, you just need to dismantle oppositions to remain in power for life.

I hope you know they was a referendum held in crimea...

With a majority of the people agreeing to the annexation of the region to Russia? Where is Putin's paranoid in that?

What I have come to understand is most of you have minimal knowledge in what you are arguing about. You don't even understand the reason or cause for these things but just follow band wagon effects.

If you know the reasons for the Ukraine war then you will understand why it's a defensive war for Russia. I don't think I have the time to start explaining everything from the beginning!

What reasonable point(s) have you made now ,that you are talking about "minimal knowledge"? Disseminate information or educate if you have to without subtle insults.
So it is Nigeria that will conduct a " true" referendum for secessionists groups in sovereign countries like Cameroon,Benin, Chad,Niger after forcefully taking over that part of their country abi?

Are we talking about Nigeria here...?

I said a referendum was conducted in the Crimea region agreeing to annexation to Russia and you are mentioning Cameroon and Biafra. It's exactly why I won't waste my time typing or disseminating any information because I don't want to waste my time explaining to ignorant people that would still not understand.

Russia didn't invade for the fun of it did they?

Putin's reasons for war with Ukraine are genuine.

His actions were defensive. The best form of defense sometimes is attack.

Read up the reasons the war started in the first place.

Like I said, Russia is only defending it's sovereignty!
what was Putin defending against by invading Ukraine?

lexy2014:
what was Putin defending against by invading Ukraine?
One of Vladimir Putin's primary concerns and publicly stated reasons for invading Ukraine was the potential for Ukraine to join NATO and host US military bases.

Putin has long been opposed to NATO's expansion into Eastern Europe, and Ukraine's potential membership in the alliance was seen as a significant threat to Russia's national security. He argued that Ukraine's membership in NATO would lead to the deployment of US and NATO military forces, including missile defense systems, on Russia's borders.

Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia would take steps to protect its interests and prevent the deployment of US and NATO military forces in Ukraine. The invasion of Ukraine in 2022 was, in part, an attempt to prevent Ukraine's further integration with NATO and the potential deployment of US military bases.

So, to answer your question, Putin was indeed strongly opposed to the idea of the US building military bases in Ukraine, and this was one of the factors that contributed to the invasion!

did the US say that it is going to build bases in Ukraine?

Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland (has a US military base) all border Russia to the east and are all members of NATO.

Finland joined just after Russian invasion of Ukraine.

how come Russia did not invade all these countries to prevent "the deployment of US and NATO military forces, including missile defense systems, on Russia's borders"?
