A tense scene unfolded on Saturday at Ozolua Model Primary School in Iguobazuwa East Ward, Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State, as angry voters confronted a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agent accused of withholding Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) during the ongoing by-election.

According to eyewitnesses, the unnamed party agent allegedly collected voters’ PVCs during the registration exercise but refused to return them when the time came to vote.

One of the affected voters explained to The Bureau News that the agent had initially mobilised residents for registration and collected their cards “to help them,” but later declined to release them — apparently because many of the voters intended to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Omosede Igbinedion.

He said the agent “suddenly refused to return the cards when he realised we were planning to vote for the APC candidate.”

The confrontation drew a large crowd and nearly turned violent before police officers arrived to calm tensions and restore order at the polling station.

The incident reflects the high level of tension surrounding the Edo by-election, with many voters insisting on their right to freely choose their preferred candidate.

For Ozolua Model Primary School, drama break out like Nollywood part 2 as PDP agent allegedly do “come collect PVC, no return am” format! Voters wey don ready to shine their ink finger vex enter full Area Boys Association mode when dem realize say “helper” don turn hijacker.

According to one vexed voter, the guy collect card like Good Samaritan, but when he hear say dem wan vote APC’s Omosede Igbinedion, he lock up like NEPA light switch. Wahala con nearly turn Royal Rumble until police land come scatter the ring and cool the matter down. 🥵

This kind stunt na why people dey shout say “election no be do-or-die,” but some party agents dey behave like say dem dey audition for Power Rangers. 🤦🏾‍♂️

I don't think PDP can ever change.

The idea that one PDP lady allegedly carted away with over $2 billion of our money and not a penny can be recovered is excruciating.

And the idea that Mr Jonathan, under whose watch some of the most egregious stealing in the history of this country happened, is nursing the thought of contesting for any public position, let alone the presidency of this country, leaves me pondering.

Did he miraculously convince himself that he was an effective president or he is just deluded, wallowing in the mischievous prompting by failed ADC/PDP politicians
