What Does It Mean To Deny Jesus? by AngelahFlo(op): 9:42pm On Aug 15, 2025
Hello Guys,
As Christians we're commanded to stand for the truth and to defend the truth. This is more pertinent in the season we are in now. A lot of people for fear of not been accepted or not being branded as controversial has taken to denying their faith and this is how they do it.
By not defending their beliefs as outlined in the word of God which is the Bible.
By trying to be diplomatic when in the midst of non Christians or those of another denomination from their own.
By hiding their identity which is the same as not letting people know their alliance with Jesus.

The Bible has a somber warning for such people and it's found in the Gospel of Luke 12:8-9
I say to you, whoever declares openly and confesses Me before men [speaking freely of Me as his Lord], the Son of Man also will declare openly and confess him [as one of His own] before the angels of God.
9 But he who denies Me before men will be denied in the presence of the angels of God.

(Luke 12:8-9 Amplified Bible version)

The above passage is a somber warning indeed and should put fear in the heart of the reader as they go about their daily life interacting with their friends and neighbors. When you deny the Lord Jesus by not confessing Him or defending His Word then that person will approach the throne room and will hear Jesus say "I don't know you, depart from me...".
Everyday we must search our hearts and thoughts to see if in our daily interactions with people if we're reflecting Christ in our conducts or just trying to fit in.
Jesus when he was on earth was very controversial. He had a rub off with the Pharisees and Scribes of His day. If He could do that so as to identify with His Father how much more we who have been sent by him to be a witness to his word of truth!

In conclusion never be afraid to share your faith and never be afraid to defend and speak up for the truth. It's better to be controversial for the truth than to be a Yes man

We have over 48,000 churches and from what i've seen so far they are different in their teachings. How can a member of one church deny Jesus before men when he sees members of another church doing the exact opposite of what he was taught as truth about Jesus?
Let's say you are from C.A.C (women don't wear makeup or jewelries) how can you speak for your own Jesus in the presence of a woman attending Christ Embassy who believes makeup and jewelries is okay for women?
Won't that lead to endless arguments?
And the scriptures say we should avoid arguments. Titus 3:9

MaxInDHouse:
Satan has been working tirelessly so that Christianity may fail and to an extent he has been making progress because Jesus handed over the commission to imperfect humans who will in turn pass over the assignment to other imperfect humans when they die or as Jesus puts it in a parable (when men are sleeping) {Matthew 13:25} so after the death of Jesus' twelve apostles and first century disciples who knew the truth Satan began promoting apostates (rebellious excommunicated members who were disciplined due to misconduct and unchristian course) these individuals became political something no member of the first century disciples partake in and they began persecuting anyone who speaks against their activities until they were able to silence or make other members compromise their stand.
This has continued until the twentieth century when America declared freedom of speech expression and worship from that time true Christianity began taking shape again and today true Christianity has fully recovered from it's deathlike condition {Revelations 11:7-10} from the year 1931 the true God gave this group a new name which separated them from all others claiming Christians they are known globally today as JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES! Isaiah 65:15

Jesus returned in the year 1914 only to find out that what he commissioned in the first century has taken a totally different shape {Luke 18:8} so as a spirit king himsel and his angels began looking for any religion that's prepared to make changes so as to conform to what he laid down in the first century.
The only group that yielded to his call is called The International Bible Students Association back then led by one Charles Taze Russell from that time till the year 1931 Jesus continued to teach them how to return to true Christianity all other religions were mocking this group because they keep changing from one doctrine to another as if they don't know what they are doing unknowingly to observers that Jesus the invisible spirit king is the one doing the restructuring until today that everyone on planet earth now know this group as the most active and united group when it comes to preaching and teaching about God's Kingdom throughout the world! Act 1:8

So, I asked a question before that Jehovah witness guy did the rubbish.
When religion is hiding the truth from you, how possibly can you defend the same religion if you are a sincere person?

Good question brother. First of all we Christians are called to reflect the life of Christ and this is what makes Christianity not to be a mere religion. A mere religion follows a set of rules and guidelines and rituals but true Christianity is a lifestyle of Love and compassion towards all men as exemplified by Jesus who's our perfect example and the way to the Father. On the ground of this admission, I'm a sincere Christian who stand for the truth and seek to show people the way to God through the message of Reconciliation.

In other words, i should be diplomatic with Non Christians and people of other denominations since Christ says follow peace with all men?

In a situation where a non Christian or a friend of other denomination celebrate a birthday party and alcoholic drinks were served. Meanwhile my church teaching is that alcohol consumption is a sin and it will take me to hell fire. Then there was my pastor and some of my church leaders in the party drinking soft drinks. Does it mean that i have denied Jesus if take alcohol ?

In a situation like that you do what the Word of God says cos it's the doer of the Word that is really a follower of Christ. Since the word of God says Strong Drink is a mocker. You stick with what the Word and don't compromise.

You should be diplomatic with Non Christians and people of other denominations but you should maintain your stand for the Lord at all times and in all situations
