The Immediate Past Governor of Ebonyi State and current Federal Minister of Works, Sen Engr David Nweze Umahi has predicted the possibility of him clinching the Presidency seat in 2039 when power is expected to rotate back to South based on the unwritten gentleman agreement regarding power rotation between North and South if President Bola Tinubu retains his seat 2027.

The Former Chairman of SouthEast Governors' Forum who served the region between 2015 – 2023 is banking on his goodwill, loyalty and dedication across regions and party divide to make this claim.

The Ubulu born Politician/Achiever in Ohaukwu LGA who was instrumental to the massive infrastructural development of Ebonyi State is positioning himself ahead of bigger battle in 2039 which would definitely come with its own tussle for the APC Presidential ticket for SouthEast and possibly SouthSouth aspirants.

The Federal Government's information managers, led by the Minister of Information, were on a tour of Federal Government projects in the South-East when he made the statement.

He said that all South-East governors support Bola Tinubu's second term. He also said that he heard somebody running his mouth and the person said that the only region that support is intact is the south-east and the person was referring to Peter Obi. He said that when the presidency comes to the South-East, he has a better chance of getting it than Peter Obi.
