A man has raised alarm over the deteriorating state of a house built close to the ocean in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.

The lower part of the house has been completely washed away, with deep cracks visible on the walls, the fence broken down, and parts of the interior severely damaged. Speaking in Yoruba, the man explained that the house is not far from the Federal Government road.

He pleaded with Nigerians to help share the video in order to attract the attention of the relevant authorities. He also called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to intervene and address the situation.

Funny thing is that most of these people who lives in Lagos have many beautiful houses wasting away in their villages . "But since everybody wanna live in the city of Lagos, they'd rather prefer to live and die there to relocating back home..

All is well, you see dry land you no buy, you go buy water, wetin you want us to do about this

Quite unfortunate, sorry for your loss.

But common sense should tell anybody that this is not an appropriate place to build, a place so close to the ocean.

Consulting the responsible government agency before building would have averted this loss because no government agent would have given the approval to build such.

I am not understanding, how come you have boarder with the ocean, so you mean all your waste is directed into the ocean.
Who sell this land for you?
Even if the government is coming to your aid, they are taking the land from you.

that's why you need to verify a land also check the topographical region before making payment and start building your house for future purposes 🙂

U want a house u can view the ocean but the ocean is viewing u, don't fight nature but work with nature and all will be beautiful as it was meant to be

What brings people to Lagos is the search for opportunities. Life isn't just about living in a beautiful house in the village. So much money flows in Lagos (chiefly controlled by Nigerian businesses and foreign investors)...more than any other place in Nigeria.

If you aren't in the midst of people who control the wealth of the country, you may never make it. What makes lands expensive in Lekki is that they are reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean and close to the key areas where the richest people in Nigeria (Banana Island and Ikoyi) live.

What do you mean by saying he is showing off the house?

I dont regard anyone that owns property in Lagos. You're broke in the future. When person never visit Abuja, they think of only that slum. Imagine buying property hundreds of millions while good estates with peace of mind dey waste for Abuja.

Most people didnt hear when he said the water was a mile away from them before it enchroached!

Why would a reasonable person go and build a house so close to the water?

Attention to authorities? How person go build house for a place like that then ask authorities to do something about it.
