All right. Thank you. Though considering that plastics are not brittle, it’s likely they use some pretreatment steps to make them crushable.

They’re being reused for zobo drinks, homemade liquid soaps etc.

On a serious note, they’re being recycled but we don’t know where the recycling plants are😂
There’s a recycling company at Mile 2 in Lagos. I think it’s called Akeem or something. Don’t be quick to comment on what you don’t know about.

Over here, it's cans folks pick off of household recycle bins. Waste and recycle pick up in my area is every Friday, by early morning you see someone rummaging through the bin for cans. They flatten the cans and drop them in bags.

It is first compressed and later grounded into either pebbles of various sizes or to powdery form. Industries meant for this are all over the country. I once saw one at Ayegbaju market in Osogbo, Osun State.

As at the year 2022, a ton of PET bottles is 300k.

Why do you think both hausa scavengers and all these waste disposal trucks are competing for those bottles.
I ran out of fuel one time and I had to go use jerry can to get fuel to put in my car,I got the fuel and I was looking for any used pet bottle to cut and use as funnel alas I searched for several minutes around the entire area and I couldn't find any, something that ordinarily would have been everywhere in the past due to our irresponsible waste disposal methods in the past......I then realised that this plastic recycling thing is the reason I couldn't find any....our environment is now cleaner and this people are making brisk business,I heard that big net of plastic waste is worth 150k.

A casual bank staff who lost his job due to downsizing by the banks as a reflection of current realities that brick and mortar banking halls is going out of fashion, will then come out and start calling tinubu for economic hardship when there are opportunities like these to change their fortunes but they will think it beneath their status and not for them but would rather stay hungry online insulting the president.

They are collected, washed and sundried, then sorted out based on colors and textures. Coca-Cola pet bottle is not same as Aquafina even though they're transparent.
These are sorted and sent for grinding into Peebles and dust crusts depending on what the intention and demand is.
It is then loaded and scaled to arrive at 25kg per bag and it depends on what manufacturers need, as colors are more expensive than black, and black are less expensive than Dark.
These are used to make
Nylon shopping bags
Pure water bags
PVC pipes
Phone pouch
Storage overhead tanks
Pet bottles
Plastic chairs
Buckets
And even slippers
So many household items.

I know this because I work directly with these manufacturers as a consultant
