North-East Group Apologises to Goodluck Jonathan Over Boko Haram Allegations

A North-East group, Bring Back Our Goodluck, has apologised to former President Goodluck Jonathan for past allegations linking him to Boko Haram sponsorship.

This shows that only Jonathan can unseat Tinubu not emotional Peter Obi.
Elections aren't won with emotions.

At a press conference in Maiduguri, the group’s National President, Grema Kyari, admitted they were misled by a former U.S. President and desperate Nigerian politicians, describing the claims as false and politically motivated to oust Jonathan in 2015.

Kyari, from insurgency-hit Borno State, said they now recognise Jonathan as “a leader of integrity, compassion, and national vision,” and hailed him as a democrat who put the nation first.

This is laughable.

These people once stood strongly against Jonathan. After the 2011 election, the region rejected him over PDP zoning issues and later turned harsher when Boko Haram ravaged Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa. By 2015, opposition parties used insecurity as their main weapon to campaign him out of office.

Now seeing a “North East Hold Bring Back Our Jonathan Rally” shows how political mood changes with time. The same region that voted him out is now comparing his era with what followed.
