So I realised that a YouTube account I opened since 2016 has been lying dormant.

8 months ago, I posted a content but it got no views.

I stopped.

Not because I failed, but I'm busy with other businesses that I run.


Last month or thereabout, I saw my senior business associate.

He manages 3 YouTube accounts amidst his busy schedule.

He makes way more than me from our business alone.

I told him about my desire to start but no time. I asked him how he was able to do it.


He answered all my questions then said something to me.


Start with something simple.
Don't go for what requires complex skills and set up.

I did that.

My first video last month is about 10k views.
I have a couple of videos blowing up.
Majority are still below 1k views, but they will catch up.

I hope to be monetized by this month end. Or at least, meet the requirements.

I'll be updating daily.


Please don't start a YouTube channel. We are now too many.
I hope to be the last person to join YouTube this decade.

Here is my traffic for the past 48 hours.
Not bad, for a new channel,

But not my aim.

Mind you
This is not my ideal channel,

Just doing it to gain experience.
And it is the easiest right now.

I hope to pivot once this one is monetized.

Views are dropping. I definitely need to pivot to a new niche.

But for now, let me get this one monetized.


I actually have a plan to get monetized this month.

So far, if I keep up my tempo, in exactly 14 days I'll be monetized.


But honestly, I'm experiencing burnout.

I'm joggling other things as well. But we keep moving.

I'll go for vacation once I'm monetized.

Just got to 2k watch hours and 400 subs.
Not bad, but I'm not relaxing either.

One of my regrets is sharing links for my videos here.

Don't get me wrong, it can have a positive impact. It did with one of the earlier videos.


But for the rest, if I didn't know what to do, it would have tanked.

I'm pivoting. I've always wanted to pivot. I guess this was the reality check I needed.


I'm still brainstorming on niches to pivot to.

Make money niche is saturated, but too many garbage information out there.

True crime niche also seems saturated, but I am not afraid of competition.
