Nwankwo Kanu was moving from Ajax Amsterdam to Inter Milan in 1996 when it was discovered that he had a heart defect. The condition was discovered during medical tests connected with the transfer.

Inter Milan president, Massimo Moratti (who's a billionaire), vowed that Inter Milan would support Kanu and the club sent him to the United States to undergo heart surgery. Inter Milan paid for the surgery.

Bola Tinubu was in exile in the United States at this time and he had nothing to do with the surgery.

Kanu Nwankwo has stated that he needed money to start his heart foundation and they approached 3 governors in the year 2000 and Bola Tinubu was one of the 3 governors that provided the money for the take off of the foundation.

Kanu stated this after he was criticised on social media for leading a team of Super Eagles legends to visit Bola Tinubu in 2022.

Peter Obi was not a governor in the year 2000.

I just tire for this people. When I saw the thread, I have to check again when Peter Obi became governor knowing fully well that Kanu's heart operation was during the military regime.
Yoruba is just disgracing themselves because of few years of Presidency (my full respect for real omoluabis though) . Nigerians are watching. It will come back to haunt them.
