You don't have to worry yourself. Your birth was registered before you turned 18. Use the NPC birth certificate you have. That works perfectly. Joesno: |

It depends on your age. If you're above 30, then you're no longer eligible to be covered by TK or any other public health insurance in Germany. What they can do for you is to forward your M10 notification (a kind of exemption) to your school, if you request it. However, you will get covered by Mawista while in Germany. Moreover, if you're above 30, you can still email your Mawista insurance to your school while you wait for any of the public health insurance you choose to notify them of your exemption. You're welcome. It's an exemption confirmation from the Public Health Insurance for your school. A way that your school can officially know that you're exempt because you're above 30. That is possible only if you're above 30. Your school must be notified of this even if you are covered by your private health insurance (Mawista insurance). Can you please confirm if you're above 30? WinnyNelly:Hello WInnyNellly, Exactly. I know Germany does not treat PhD research as studies but rather as work, hence the confusion. I did see this though (https://digital.diplo.de/navigator/ru/visa/overview/promotion) which says "If you wish to get a PhD in Germany and you have already been accepted into a PhD programme, you can apply for a study visa if you can proof that you have enough financial means to cover your living expenses." I am still waiting for the final documents from the school but considering that there is always a waiting time, I was hoping that I am able to get an appointment pending when the documents from the school arrive any moment from now. I am not able to register on the CSP (https://app.digital.diplo.de/login). It says to choose a "Service" first, which upon clicking leads me here (https://digital.diplo.de/). I selected visa (https://digital.diplo.de/visa). I clicked on Studies and it led me here - https://digital.diplo.de/studium. Unfortunately, it says online application not yet available. Hence why I am not able to register on the CSP Portal. Perhpas you have an idea how to go about this? Or I am missing something? Thank you. pineapplejuice:

Fwonder123:You can fill out this link from TK https://www.tk.de/en/confirmation-of-insurance-for-enrolment-at-university-2176054 and they will forward your confirmation to your university. You do have your university sender number right? |

WinnyNelly:Yes, I just got a mail from the university even asking if I would be needing a hosting agreement. So I am also in the process of gathering all the documents. Wanted to atleast have everything on ground. I was able to create the account on CSP. Also, I got this from the school: "Please inform me if you need a „hosting agreement“ for the embassy. This is a complicated process here at university. So if you will need it for embassy please inform me very early because here I need some time for it. But for display for this document we need a health insurance or a travel health insurance that says that when you are in germany before your employment at university starts, that you have a health insurance in this time, also I will need your passport document. I would like to inform you that I got the information from a canditate in the past (also from Nigeria) that it could be that embassy need a special health insurance, so that travel helath insurance is maybe not the correct one, please ask here the embassy which health insurance you will need for the entry." By chance, could you kindly assist? Not quite sure I fully understnad. Thank Youuuuuu. |

KingThomas1:Yes, you need hosting agreement. For the university and embassy, you need health insurance not travel health insurance. In my own case, the university suggested a public health insurance so I registered with Techniker Krankenkase which the university accepted and I also submitted it when I went for my interview but 5 days after the interview I got an email from the embassy to submit an incoming private health insurance so I registered with Dr. Walter and sent it to the embassy. I heard the embassy didn't take the former because it requires you must be in Germany before activation but the later covers you immediately from the point of entry. |

WinnyNelly:Oh, I see. Then I should look at registering with Dr. Walter now also then. If it is not too much trouble, could you share the process or package you'd recommend and cost? Any other tips you would recommend. I would have asked to continue in the DM but I imagine this would also be beneficial for all. Thank you so much again. |

KingThomas1:I used Dr. Walter Educare 24 XL. Google it. Then, I didn't pay immediately. I chose the option of paying when I get to Germany. When are you starting your contract? |
