Isese Day: Lagos, Oyo, Ogun Declare Wednesday Public Holiday by Mynd44(mod):
Following this year’s Isese Day celebrations on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the Lagos, Oyo, and Ogun state governments have declared the day as work-free for public servants.

The Lagos State government made the announcement through a circular issued by the state’s Head of Service, Bode Agoro, and addressed to top government officials, including the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Chief Judge, commissioners, chairmen of local councils, Local Council Development Areas, permanent secretaries, and heads of state agencies, among others.

According to the circular, the declaration was part of Sanwo-Olu’s reaffirmed commitment to promoting indigenous culture, tradition, and heritage while strengthening support for traditional institutions across the state.

Also, declaring the day a public holiday, the Oyo State government, through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, in a circular dated August 18, 2025, indicated that the governor approved the work-free day to mark the Isese Day Celebration.

It would be recalled that August 20 was formally declared a public holiday in 2023, following a motion passed by the Ogun State House of Assembly and the concurrent approval of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The day is set aside to celebrate Yoruba religion and traditions. In a statement, the state government said the introduction of Isese Day as a public holiday reflects Abiodun’s recognition of the vital role that Yoruba heritage and practices play in the state’s identity and cultural landscape.

Just watch o, you'll soon see these Nigerian yeyebrities posting different nonsense on social media to condemn this festival but they join oyibo people to celebrate halloween that doesn't concern them.

A good one

The truth remains that Africa is gone and gone.

In 2025, even the Yorubas don’t even know what Isese means… to them, it is evil and Jesus Mohammed is their lord and savior.
Talk of a lost race!
Chai

But it’s pathetic that with all the resources available to do simple research, or just use a little particle of atom of brain left in their head, they can’t… how will a people worship something that was used to enslave and colonize you… worst of all, the colonizers no longer follow this path.
If you have white friends, or white colleagues… you will realize they don’t even carry Jesus. They rarely or don’t even go to church. They don’t even have Bible

But a full grown adult in Nigeria will be singing and be saying the god of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac they will serve. What of the God of your ancestors?
God of people that don’t bear your names

Lastly, why Africans no to get sense like that… especially this generation of pastor jerrry followers and co… the word “Ancestor” automatically means evil to them.. like just tell them, your ancestors be blessed, they will say God forbid, wetin be ancestors!!! Like for real man!! These people are krazzzzy… and they want to have children and great grandchildren… and descendants, not knowing that they are the ancestors of their own future descendants…

And lastly for the last time

See the Queen Elizabeth whey bring Christianity come meet you, watch a video of Queen Elizabeth undergoing her ancestral initiation… same people whey carry missionaries give you oo, they are practicing their own. Even when she died, they did their traditional rites for the queen….

Traditionalist is gradually coming back to where they belongs !
Foreign religion had beclouded Nigeria native sense of responsibility and progress.
The amount spent on Religious trips to Mecca and Jerusalem is enough to build an infrastructure lasting decades.
It is high time to worship our deity just like the Japanese and South Korea.

Good for Yoruba race .

Enough of foreign religions that has beclouded the reasoning of Nigerians .
