🇷🇺 Russia has returned the bodies of 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers, five of whom died while in Russian captivity, authorities in Kyiv said Tuesday.

Moscow had handed over the bodies of 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers and had received 19 bodies of its own fallen soldiers in return, the news agency said.

Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said the exchange was part of agreements reached during Russian-Ukrainian peace talks held in Istanbul earlier this summer.

The agency said the soldiers had died in southeastern Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as in southwestern Russia’s border region of Kursk, which Ukrainian forces briefly occupied following a surprise incursion last August.

Moscow has not yet commented on the exchange.

The state-run news agency TASS, citing an anonymous source, reported that Russia received 19 bodies of its soldiers on Tuesday.

A similar 1,000-for-19 exchange took place on July 17.

Bully Russia. If not because European countries no wan fight again like in the 30s and 40s,they would hv done a Germany on Russia.

Na invasion of Poland by Germany caused WW2. Normally,the invasion of Ukraine by Russia shud hv led to ww3. But Europe is now soft and calm. If not na each country go dey declare war on Russia.

He's not fighting to the death. His soldiers are. Just like every general, their soldiers remain pawns to be sacrificed on the battlefield at will. Whatever they're trying to achieve is more important than the lives of common soldiers..
