The USSD codes should be the worst fraud , alongside discos in Nigeria. Immediately you dial their codes, the N6.8 is deducted even when the transaction is not successful as it is most of the time . The poorer the network, the more the transaction fails, the more you have to redial, the more they deduct from you, even when the banks reversed the transaction, the USSD deductions remain ![]() |

They want to tax your income and then tax every other thing you use your already taxed income to buy! Income tax, then tax transfers you make even to your alternate accounts. Then tax what you consume, then they planned to tax your calls. Then they take all these taxes and pay themselves higher wages, longer convoys, execute ridiculous contracts which they get kick backs from neglecting public infrastructure like roads, schools, hospitals , electricity, water Then you use your taxed income to repair your cars from the damage caused by the bad roads or buy a car (which they are heavily taxing) because there is no reliable public transport system in place, send your kids to private schools cos the public ones are useless, go to private hospitals and generate your own electricity and water and employ security guards cos the police are not policing due to poor funding We will widen the tax net! Promises kept |

Embellished news and achievement padding. This 5% tax was never enforced. It was proposed and later suspended due to backlash. It will have no bearing on current data and call rates. |

Trueprophet91:I see you fell for the propaganda as was intended. This 5% excise duty was proposed and rejected/removed in the new law. It has no existing effect whatsoever, so there is nothing about current tariff reducing. The government is just fishing for achievements by attempting to squeeze water out of a rock. They have purportedly suspended a 5% tax on telecoms but Nigerians are to start paying 5% tax on refined crude from next year. They may even decide to suspend this proposed tax on fuel by December and then celebrate it as an achievement. Who is deceiving who? Animal Farm. |

He has realized that he is overdoing, I support Peter Obi's 5 years single tenor presidency. Somebody should remind the EFCC of Yahaya Bello case... It seems they're sleeping on it since Tinubu is running for reelection. |

Tunex252:President Tinubu has just removed the tax that was put on Nigerians' neck before. We are no more going to pay the tax. Kudos to President Tinubu. All courtesy of President Tinubu,no other Nigerian President dead or alive, has ever done all of these. Apart from the hardship (we can see that it is easing slowly) which happened because of the fuel and FX subsidies removal,President Tinubu has given more than any Nigerian previous govts within 2 years and I believe, just like other sane Nigerians, that he will do more. He will surely win easily in 2027 now. Coupled with massive ongoing infrastructural development, these are what he has given Nigerians in just 2 years... NELFUND. CONSUMER CREDIT SCHEME. KIDNEY DIALYSIS almost free treatment. (Haemodialysis is expensive, costing approximately N150,000:00 to N250,000:00 every month excluding Erythropoietin injections weekly) Nigeria Technical institutions are free. They live in school free. They eat free food. They even collect #22,500 every month...so you think these students, their families, friends etc will allow you to vote out Tinubu because of your myopic views? Dey play! Old pensioners get free medical treatment in Nigeria. Nigeria doesn't owe IMF shishi. Tinubu has paid all. Nigeria has best tech city in the world 2025. |

Putinofrussia:What do you mean that it is basically the rich that will pay tax in nigeria now? Tinubu that is preparing to tax all cumulative transfers to accounts within a year over 800,000, irrespective of purpose for the transfers or the profit margins of the business. I am still waiting to see how that one will work. |
