That’s not how statistics work Just because there’s a 25% positive doesn’t mean the entire population is so represented Most of the DNA done is as a result of doubts or trying to travel abroad. Ask yourself what percentage of Nigerians travel abroad or have dispute over fatherhood? It’s like saying you got 25% positive for malaria testing so the entire country is 25% affected You need to go out and do randomized tests on the entire population to find out the requisite numbers. Some of you should have listened in your maths classes |

Lamanii22:Which man will forgive you if the first child is not his own ![]() Where is the man the will forgive such fraud? Do you know how men cherish their first fruit 🍑? Do you know the joy that fills a man's heart seeing his supposed first child grow almost to his height under his roof? ...and you think such a man will forgive upon realising that he has been fooling himself and wasting money on another man's offspring all along? Women, you people should fear God na. |

DeipTruth:With all due respect observed and with all intent on politeness, you are a female. On this issue of paternity tests, we are not exactly interested in your opinions or consulting you on the issue because it is in your interests to denigrate it. We believe left to women, DNA tests would not exist. An A woman’s opinion on DNA tests no matter how well intended is like asking a woman for her body count. Whatever the answer cannot be taken as genuine therefore xno point in asking or listening. That said and I like I have previous expressed, I also recognize it is in the interests of the DNA test centers whether the tests they conduct are accurate or not to encourage men to have tests and to possibly paint a picture of it being more rampant than it is. It is a business….no tests …no money, more tests….more money! A man intent on conducting a test is quite capable of knowing he needs to conduct multiple tests to eliminate contamination or errors. Thank you for your attention on this matter! |

I wish DNA can be subsidised and made compulsory. Even if it is at govt hospitals. People who do not want it can sign a form to that effect, but the rest of the populace gets it. This would reduce the sensationalism every Eke market day. FG should look into it abeg. |

donbenie:But the data is talking about people who conducted the test and not the general population. The percentage of paternity fraud in the general population will be much lower |

lawani:Lol. When they say that HIV incidence is a certain percentage in a State,do you think everyone living in the state was tested? A sample is taken,a sizeable sample and the result extrapolated. So be assured, this is a rough reflection of the society we live in. |

semid4lyfe:It is simple arithmetic What is the sample source of Nigerians who can afford dna testing? Is that sample source representative of the entire population of Nigeria with 36 states and multiple income levels? It is just Dna testing companies looking to boost their income stream as family japa money has dried up. |

Lamanii22:I doubt if any man will forgive irrespective whether it's the first child or not and the dynamic of that marriage will not remain the same again. The chain of trust has been broken in that regard. If I discover you cheated during our dating days when we are married, the distrust will automatically set in. |
