Remember when people argued Nigerians are a representation of their leaders.

Now answer this, are Nigerians are representation of people like her or the people in the civil service?

Or do we agree that the statement is a stupid thing to say 😁

Sachet engine oil
Smart move, good development and long overdue.

I recall Cowbell started the sachetization of milk in the 90's and that move turned milk from a luxury product for the rich to an everyday product. It also changed the whole FMCG industry because other companies also adopted sachet packaging afterwards. I believe the same thing will happen with engine oil because more brands will adopt sachets to cut production costs, increase sales and profits, and widen their market share.

Consumer behaviour in Nigeria don change gan and na satchet everybody dey buy now, and it makes sense to. For example, 1000g Nestle Cerelac tin (Made in Nigeria) cost #12,000. The same Nestle Cerelac in 50g sachet cost 3900 per roll of 10 sachets. So two rolls which is the content equivalent of the 1000g tin is #7800. A whopping difference of #4200. Person like me wey dey buy 3 tins of nestle cerelac every month, thats a saving of #12600.

Man gats make every kobo count in this economy.

Sachet engine oil
I think it's okay, considering the fact that the plastic is about 20% of the cost of the oil.

Also, it will be hard to adulterate this one for now, because of the packaging

I wanted to tag you in this matter to hear your comments. This is my opinion as well. It is easier to take a bottle wash and reuse than to take this sachet. Will be worse for the environment sha.

Like the transition from glass bottle to PET bottle

PET Bottles drastically reduced cost but are ultimately unrecyclable (at least in the abroad)

Omo, Nigeria no be environment wey encourage person to dey pursue his or her dream o.

I know one bros like that who takes master's students tutorials in Quantitative Techniques, Mathematics, Statistics, OR etc. The bros completed his PhD and lobbied for 2 goods years, yet the Lecturing job was not forthcoming despite how good he was. (This bros will take tutorials of courses most students have given up on because the yeye lecturers would always confuse them in class and those students will score at least 70/100 due to his tutorials)

I think he gave up the academic dream late last year and early this year he joined one of the big 4's. He joined their actuarial team which I believe he will be a great addition for them. That's how the academics miss a great talent and the students will keep making do with yeye lecturers who are not even half as skilled as he is in teaching/imparting knowledge. The good side for him is he will have a rewarding career financially in the private sector

Yeah.

The packaging makes it hard to adulterate; or at least, they will gain enough time and sales before they adulterate it grin

Total PLC is always changing the label on their 25L without notice because of adulteration.

I like the idea though. People who use 1L for their generators can stick to it

The academia in Nigeria is losing a lot of great minds to foreign countries or other sectors of the economy. I am a strong believer in the academia and it is sad to see valuable talents like this guy forced to make career choices that takes them out of the academia. How do we build upon the foundation of some of our aging professors? Our institutions of knowledge are attracting instructors who are not necessarily passionate about the academia and it is evident in the new generation of graduates we are churning out. We need brains like this guy who LOVE the academia.

This is the only beef I have with Professor W. Kumuyi, whom many forget is a Professor of Mathematics! Others are Adeboye, a respected Mathematics lecturer at Unilag and UniLorin and Olukoya! Olukoya freaking specialized in Molecular Genetics!!!

I love God and no one should question his calling but mannnnn, sometimes I really wish the likes of Kumuyi particularly, stayed in the classroom imparting knowledge.

less than 30% of recyclable plastic is actually recycled.

it is a myth sold by big business to push environmental responsibility from themselves to individuals

google pet bottle recycling rate
also plastic recycling myth

it is also why lagos state is trying to impose laws on single use pet bottles, and why companies like nestle are now manufacturing extremely fragile pet bottles

we dont really have numbers - but people in the abroad do

When religion is involved (in an African setting), it is kinda hard to have logic/reasoning given a chance.

I mean there you may have great academics and professionals who function both as career people and religious leaders outside Africa. But here in this part of the world most great academics/professionals the moment they become religious leaders they just let go of their professions. More like they have a belive they can't serve God and still continue with their career. They always believe in doing the religion thing full time.

I honestly don't know why tho

there is a station that sells the oil direct to you. so it is cheaper to carry your bottle and buy than to buy the bottled oil.

as an aside, sumec firman were recommending that end users use mobil 1 for their generator

a generator which is basically the engine of an okada and they are telling you to use high end oil for proper automobiles?

of course when you ask why, they cannot give a clear answer

Abeg people from Delta/Niger Delta please does the Itsekiri culture allow a king to be bare headed?

I do hear people talk about similarities between the Itsekiri culture and the Yorubas all the time, but I was surprised seeing the Olu of Warri's picture from a recent palace church service in commemoration of his 4th coronation ceremony.

I mean in Yoruba culture a king's bare head would never be seen again from the day he's named Ọba elect till his demise. Even when he's in a church he would either have a crown on his head or a small cap which will cover his head at all times.

Omo, now that I am even thinking more about it. There is Professor Osita Nebo (Personally encountered him severally). You want to talk about BRAINS, then you are speaking of the great and erudite Prof. Nebo!! I was mad when he ventured into politics as a Minister, but glad he found his way back but e be like say Church don carry am now. There is also Prof Bart Nnaji and Osibanjo who have no business in Politics where they are unappreciated. Baba, the thing dey vex me when I see these guys outside the Academia.

Nigerians are very emotional people, all what the drug addict naira Marley is saying now he said in his live video 2 years ago and he was insulted to a pulp, likewise when I tried to be a voice of reason they abused the hell outta me. He bullied him but he most certainly didn't kill Mohbad who himself was also a Crack addicted misguided youth
