Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that Babachir Lawal once visited him in Port Harcourt after President Bola Tinubu chose Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

According to Wike, Lawal was upset because he believed he would be picked as Vice President.

Looking at it from his angel. At no time has any other presidential candidate choosing a muslim/muslim candidate. Him being a top politician in APC who is a Christian would gave felt he had no rival, given that the president was a Muslim.

No committee or party organs nominated Babachir Lawal but they did with Wike. Atiku promised to go with the name the party gave him but be reneged.
