This thread is to discuss and possibilities around GPT and Super Intelligence.

There has been wide fear in the software development environment about AI taking over jobs but with the current levels at which current GPT's are, I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

What I think will happen is that those who don't know how to use or interact with AI may not have a job anytime soon.

So now is the time to learn how to use AI. AI is an enabler.

AI won't take the job of experienced software developers who know their onions. But the important thing is that, from now and going into the future, we all need to learn how to integrate and leverage AI in our various fields of endeavors in tech and outside tech.

I'm still of the believe that clients and companies who want to develop new software applications or maintain and update existing ones won't entrust the whole process to AI tools. They will still be needing experienced software developers.

My 2 cents.✌️

This is the main issue.

More than 80% of developer time is spent debugging and testing . And with AI this is highly reduced. It is going to make developers very efficient so you will need less people on your team.
