Prioritising leaders' greed over Basic Welfare

The recent proposal by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to increase the salaries of Political Leaders is causing widespread anger and bitterness among Nigerians, and we share the concerns of many Nigerians who question the necessity and timing of this proposal.

Such thinking in the face of faster-eroding living standards of the people not only portrays the insensitivity of leaders but also exposes their greed.

The RMAFC’s reckless haste in prioritising the greed of Politicians over the desperate needs of the masses is not only provocative but scandalous. It’s a shameless grab for more at the expense of Nigeria’s struggling majority!

The proposed over 100% salary increase for political office holders is totally unjustifiable considering the economic realities facing our country.

We believe that political office is a service to the nation, and not a means to accumulate wealth.

It is very disturbing that the RMAFC is prioritising the welfare of political office holders over that of security personnel, particularly police officers who are grossly underpaid and overworked. We urge the government to redirect its focus towards improving the living conditions of public workers, who are the backbone of our country.

We call on the RMAFC to prioritise the welfare of Nigerians, particularly those in the public service, who have been neglected for far too long.

A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Coming from a Governor who was caught with 250 million naira in the booth of his car. This is nothing but hypocrisy and projection.

Politicians are contemplating an increase in salary when the masses are hungry.
That's crazy.

While I believe that Buhari was a failure on all fronts, Tinubu is definitely bent on out-failing him.

Buhari and Osinbajo took a 50% salary slash. And the economy was nowhere half as bad as it is right now.
But Tinubu wants to pump his coffers full of national cake before he's booted out in 2027.

Interesting days ahead.

"The forest was shrinking but the trees kept voting for the axe, for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood he was one of them".

Defenders over to you.

While at it, ensure to ignore the message and focus on the messenger.

The s is an unfortunate situation. It is so clear that the political class ,cares less about the overall condition of the average Nigerian.

As long as the leader and his greed is from my tribe, there is no problem. That's Nigeria and Nigerians for you.

So the Tinubu that did 100% in Lagos can't solve Nigerian's problems rather than increase it? People like you are major problem we have in this country. You hate someone to the point u don't believe something good will ever come out of the person. If someone fails in a class in Jss1, would u conclude he is a failure for life? Some didn't do well in Nigerian Universities but got 1st class in Europe. Rethink

No politicians can be trusted, fact.

But always address the message, not the messenger.

Was the message right or wrong, that's what we should be asking ourselves

obi is always caught in the offside position based on past performance as a governor for 8 years in Anambra state. For instance, paying fire service staffs 10 naira as hazard allowance is absurd

Why are you like this? Why not talk about the message instead of attacking the messenger?

For those of u asking what he did in Anambra state ?

He positioned the health sector in Anambra as the number one health sector in Nigeria.

Back to the topic.

Most of u calling him names here are poor men and women who get angry at whatever he says because of tribalism but nature knows defending the poor is a foolish thing to do.

They will still go out and collect 2k and vote their bad leaders into power.
