Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, has made a shocking revelation about the late singer Mohbad’s financial dealings during his time at the label. According to Naira Marley, Mohbad frequently directed him to send money to an account that allegedly belonged to his partner’s mother, Wunmi’s mom, and not his own mother. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a recent interview, Naira Marley narrated that Mohbad first contacted him on November 16, 2020, claiming he was hospitalized for malaria treatment. He later sent an account number with the name Adesanya Justina Olajumoke on December 21, 2020, insisting that all payments be made to it.

“On December 21, 2020, Mohbad sent me an account with the name: Adesanya Justina Olajumoke. He said that was his new account where money should be paid into,” Naira Marley stated.

The Marlian boss added that on December 30, 2020, Mohbad expressed gratitude after receiving money in the same account following his one-year anniversary with Marlian Records. Again, on December 31, 2020, and January 25, 2021, the same account details were sent.

However, Naira Marley claimed he became suspicious because Mohbad’s mother is known as Abosede, not Adesanya Justina Olajumoke.

"I knew that wasn’t his mum’s name. It was Wunmi’s mother’s account. His mother’s name is Abosede. I was like what’s going on? I then called him over to my place and spoke to him,” he added.

This revelation has stirred fresh conversations online, adding another layer to the controversies surrounding Mohbad’s time under Marlian Records.

And by the way, if someone is sick and hospitalized and the money for hospital bill is needed, I don't see anything bad in receiving the money in the account of the caregiver at that moment who could double as the person that will transfer the money to the doctor and use the rest to buy provision for the patient.

yes I agree that mohbad was bullied by niara Marley in the past but I keep on telling my friends and niegbours that he is not responsible for his killing. Last last the truth is unfounding. Wummi and her mother might have charm mohbad for him operating the said account and maybe the charm was getting fading then they might decided to kill him.
