Society does not say,"Dont beat your wife." What society, or in this case, your criminal code, says is that you have no right to assault another human being, regardless of the position you or that human being occupies. And those who are unable to discipline themselves enough to abide by the criminal code are treated like the criminals that they are by society. undecided

Your thinking that an exception should exist where your wife— not the police man who slapped you the other day, or the tout that grabbed your shirt demanding you pay up or get a beating— is concerned already points to several issues with you:
⚉ You are likely easily triggered by the opposite gender—a sign of low emotional intelligence —
⚉You lack basic respect for the basic rights of the human being whom you consider your wife.

That is already a recipe for disaster in marriage for your wife and maybe even her life. So, why remain married? Why not quit before you end up in jail? undecided

You are not suppose to beat anybody

Even as a teacher we were not allowed to beat students no matter how annoying they are...
