Too many fake pastors preaching to too many dedicated and delusional members. I'm the type that believes God is everywhere and also the type that believes "I rather give my money/tithes to the less privileged" than bring it to your feet that you used to stand boldly at the alter and lie. 3 Likes |

I stopped attending Nigerian churches because Pastors were becoming emboldened in their disregard of the scripture in focusing on tithes and offering. Also the over the top subservience on Pastor and Pastor Mrs by others made me feel very uncomfortable. Black African churches and their versions of Christianity are a total sham. Nothing can stop me from attending church services. Even if God comes down today to say that church and christianity na scam, I will still choose the church life. Can't replace been in an ideal church with owambe, club, oro, or sango festival. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Church is meant to be a place where everyone gathers and communes together for a good purpose. I'm not quite a fan of most Nigerian churches. The community aspect is lacking. I heard about this place in Lekki, for men, they gather every Sunday to worship and bible study. No frills attaches and apparently it attracts men from all financial classes, none is carrying shoulder. It's more like a fellowship. I've seen Oyinbo churches and that's how they are: laid-back, Pastor doesn't wear suit. The mega churches are like Nigerian mega churches. I'd love something like that, bible study and worship, no frills, no "dress to impress", bring your kids, like 100 people and we then do community stuff together after (clean the neighbourhood, build a school, offer medical outreach), make like-minded friends. Serve the Lord in truth. |
