It's important not to judge by hearing from a one sided story!
Kounate has been straightforward about wanting to play for LFC but the club needs to agree on his demands which is justified!
Secondly,Kounate is in a certain point in his contract where he now has leverage to determine how much he wants to be paid!
We are too quick to attack our players on the need to sign without understanding that the players need these funds as most of them are likely breadwinners for families that look like a community!
Additionaly,this is the point where agents of these players know that they can make more money in terms of allowing players to run down their contracts!
Kounate is very experienced esp for his age and will most likely replace VVD as the main man in defence hence he needs to be there as it's obvious that VVD is now slowly losing his grip possibly due to age!
My plea to LFC is to pay him the 200k same way they rushed to renew the contracts for VVD and Salah who interestingly may not even last before their contract expires!

TAA was the fault of the LFC board!
2 years before his contract expired klopp made him vice cap which was a clear and obvious statement that TAA was an integral player of LFC and needed his contract to be extended!
Why did they have to wait until less than 12 months before negotiating an extension knowing that big clubs can go through intermediaries to negotiate personal agreements and advise the player to play out their contract so that they don't need to pay an exorbitant fee or zero fee for them!
That was exactly what Real Madrid did and that's why TAA is currently in Madrid!
Clubs must ensure that their important players' contract are extended early in order to avoid what happened with TAA!

Unfortunately,LFC do not have the needed leverage to put an appropriate price tag on Kounate because he has less than 12 months!

If LFC put a price tag on Kounate,clubs will simply run away in hope that the player will simply run down his contract and negotiate with those clubs on a personal level and get him for free after his contract expires in less than 12 months time!
Same is applicable to Guehi of crystal palace!
Even if LFC decides to put a price on Kounate,it will probably be around 30-40m which is what Crystal palace is asking from LFC for Guehi!

I must say I don't like Richard Hughes method of haggling prices like a tomato buyer and seller does in mile12....if it is true what Newcastle are saying that we haven't met their valuations of 150milly, just cough up the money and get your player without noise,drama and chaos.....Same thing is happening with Guehi,which we have be going back and forth with crystal palace for 5 or 10million pounds for weeks....he is setting a bad precedent

I think they're trying to be cautious of financial fair play policy or that stuff and I prefer it this way ..
Leverkusen did the same thing with wirtz but we still got him for less than that amount..

Especially Marc guehi case .. his contract is going to be over in the summer .. So getting him for that amount doesn't make sense . We're still even being reasonable for wanting to get him for initial amount we quoted before..

How much did we we get for Arnold ? Wasn't even up to 20m and his case is very similar to guehi's right now..
