Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, has called on Nigerians to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, other leaders, and security operatives for divine guidance and improved security across the country.

Governor Buni made the appeal in a statement by his media aide, Mamman Mohammed, on Friday when the leadership of the Sheikh Usman Dahiru Bauchi Foundation paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House.

In the statement, Buni explained that prayers bring divine guidance for leaders to deliver good governance and improve the lives of the people, while negative prayers against leaders result in poor leadership and weak service delivery.

“It, therefore, becomes important for us to pray to almighty Allah to guide the President, Governors and all those in position of leadership to succeed with improved security and for peace to reign in Nigeria,” he said.

The governor also urged the people to pray for the security forces.

“Here in Yobe State, we have seen the efficacy of prayers in the fight against insurgency, we should therefore continue praying for the country.

"We should not relent in praying for the president, all leaders, and the security forces for us to succeed,” he added.

In his address, the chairman of the Foundation, Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi, said the group was in the state for the Maulud anniversary of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani.

“We have representatives from Morocco, Algeria, other countries and states across the country who are here to pray for the nation.

“We appreciate Yobe State for supporting this programme, we will pray for Yobe and other states, our leaders and peace in Nigeria,” Sheikh Ibrahim assured.

This doesn’t mean anything. This doesn’t make Buni a fan of failure: Tinubu.

Everyone can ask for prayers for the President (the office) and Governors.

Tinubu will still be a one time President (OTP). He has no pathway of winning! The North will not vote for him. The SE and SS will not vote for him! Let’s see if only the SW will make him president.

We have been praying. But he and others should take proactive steps to solve Nigeria's issues and stop acting like people that just grabbed power for grabbing sake and not prepared for governance.

Northern Nigeria is Nigeria’s problem.

Many believe that praying for bad governance will change anything. They’re so brainwashed they believe whatever their imam tells them every Friday.

Meanwhile, those same imams are in the same party as APC leaders.

In fact, some political leaders could lead prayers themselves, effectively becoming imams.

Nigeria has one major problem holding back growth—and this is it.

You don't pray for a president to provide security for the nation as it is his constitutional responsibility.

The president have a crack team of self security details that works 24 hours to protect him, his cronies and buddies. He does not need prayer to do that. So if he can handles it then he should resign or let the national assembly fires him

What makes you guys think you are entitled to Nigerians’ prayers and whereas, Nigerians aren’t entitled to good security,good roads,constant electricity,adequate and affordable food supply,a standard living wage,empathic leaders etc?

Why would Nigerians have to suffer and sacrifice while the leaders loot the treasury? The subsidy removal is only for the benefits of the leaders and not the common man. Why do you think I should pray for someone who has multiplied my suffering? In whose tenure,the price of petrol ⛽️ tripled,rice unaffordable,garri and kuli only for an average Nigerian.

Do you know how many household have sold their properties to travel out? Do you know how many have sold their properties to eat? Do you know how many can’t afford quality healthcare and as a result,died?

The definition of success depends on motive.

Tinubu's success might not mean the nation's success. It all depends on what he set out to do in the first place.

Look at Buhari.
He succeeded. He wanted to be President and he became President.

That was all.

Everything else could go to shit, and it did.

Believe me, it's quite possible that, if we got to know Tinubu's real motive for being President, we might pray earnestly that he should fail.
