One thing I noticed about this people at the embassy is that they show empathy. They understand some of us have waited for a very long period before getting an appointment.

So, I would encourage you to send a follow-up email using the same mail trail explaining why you are changing your mind. Afterall, it wasn't your fault. I'm certain they would understand. You may send in proof I.e your admission letter to back up your kind request.

I know someone who went through this, if they don't reply you before the 28th of August, go for your interview and if they reschedule before 28th of August, send another email explaining and attach your admission letter and telling them all your documents are available and you are ready for your interview they will reschedule you to the closest date. This happened to someone i know, her interview was on July 8 and exactly what happened to you happened to her and she paniced and rescheduled to Sept but are issue got solved the next day and some days later the embassy responded and rescheduled her to Sept so she reached out to them and attached her proof and they rescheduled her to July 15th the following week.

I would really appreciate it if someone could kindly help me review and confirm if I am missing anything important:

1. Completed VIDEX application form along with the additional declaration

2. One biometric passport photograph

3. International passport

4. Birth certificate (certified copy) and Declaration of Age

5. Prepaid courier envelope

6. School leaving certificates (Junior Secondary Certificate Examination and WASSC certificate)

7. Proof of previous/current academic studies (BSc certificate and transcript)

8. Letter of motivation

9. Proof of work experience (employment contract)

10. Proof of adequate financial means (blocked account confirmation)

11. University admission letter (Fresh admission I just received it this week)

Those that have gone through this process before, please let me know if I should add anything else, like copies of documents, proof of health insurance, or any other supporting documents that might be required. I just want to be certain I am not leaving out anything crucial.

Good to go, print an extra copy of all documents plus your passport data page, print the visa checklist page, and if you have incoming insurance, you can carry that along

Hallo Everyone!
I observed that the study route process took a different turn since during the COVID era and a lot has changed unlike it used to be pre-2018.
People applying and having to wait for over 1 year to get interview dates cos they don’t fall into a “special” category.
Well I have carefully studied and analyzed the trend, and had a friend apply the strategy.
For candidates who which to study in Germany, here is a strategy that worked it’s a “7-month plan”;
1. Bookmark prospective schools
2. Move to Togo or Benín to apply for a resident
3. Apply for as many schools as possible
4.Ensure that your residency is Atleast 6-months old before you proceed to the embassy( from experience)
5. Proceed to apply via your new country of residence.
6. Takes approximately 1 month to conclude visa process if you have everything in place ( Sponsor letter or Blocked account)

About me:
Studied in Germany (2017) got every info from this platform too.

Learn to utilize your time by applying the right strategy.
Advice: For those in Data Science/Engineering/Analytic & Software development or any tech space, make sure you start looking for internships as soon as you arrive. Germany NEEDS YOU.

For those who needs SL, it’s also available but one must fit some criteria ( People prefer giving it to females).

I had my appointment on the same day but haven’t heard from the embassy yet, and I didn’t submit health insurance cus it was listed on the website, I wish I did

Any information given to you by people, should be researched first, go and do your due diligence, people that have texted me about the loan recommendation, what i do is explain things to them, give them the names of the companies involve and go and do your research and come back, you can even choose to visit there offices to verify, you can also go to reputable sites that drop German information and search for this things there to know if the are legit.

All these things don't come cheap, if you see someone offering these things very cheap please run, a friend was a victim of these.

You are good to go. Please any documents sent to you via mail(admission letter, block account confirmation, incoming insurance etc) you just need a copy while other documents like your birth certificate, degree certificate etc you need to have one photocopy and original. Regardless of your appointment time just be there before 7am they don't follow timing of appointment, also have up to 140k in your ATM card, and if u are coming with cash they don't accept ₦500, and your ₦1000 must be neat, the total they collected for visa fees during mine is 133k.pls prepare for what u study in your undergraduate and little mathematics.
