I see some Pan-Africanist here on Nairaland talking about Egypt stuff, moors etc. There's something they overlook, the masquerade cultures of Africa especially NIGERIA. Look at igala ,igbo land and esan, just few of the examples. There are strange workings of masquerades that people overlook, which can amaze anyone on the secret of their performances. Is shows there are things within our immediate cultures which we are unique and amazing which we can draw inspiration from instead of looking to so called ancient Egypt, kings in Taiwan and moors. These strange masquerades that perform amazing tricks can be studied.in short there's a lot of local things that if are properly studied ,we will find out that African were not as backward as we think. The greatest mistake of subsaharan blacks was taking to slavery as a business. That thing single handedly destroyed Africa almost forever. Africans are not backward in any way but have a serious character flaw that ruins Africans. Africans have to work on our approach to life, it has been destroying us from time immemorial. That is our main weakness. That is our curse. That's where our liberation lies not foreign investors, or foreign loans or japa etc,it's simple a societal character and attitudinal reorientation. |

okpouman:Mr reorientation. Yet you are dismissing our African civilisations from Kemet and Nubia to the Moors, to the fact that Africans were the first humans, and they covered and settled the entire world tens of thousands of years before so-called white people emerged. Introduced writing, mathematics, medicine, the calendar, alchemy, iron smelting, mining, astronomy, architecture. Pyramids. Temples. Law. International trade and shipping. All THAT and more, defines our African history, not just masquerades. Sudan is our next door neighbour, if you remove Chad. Why don’t we know or care that there are over 250 Pyramids there? More than in Egypt. Dated thousands of years old? Do you know that our ancestors migrated from Nubia and Kemet? Do you think we’ve always been here? Or because British invaders put a border around you and called you “Nigeria”, you forget that you are an African? That there was no border between you and those Nubian pyramids and temples? Better go and study your history properly. Your history is far more than your little village masquerades. As for slavery, Black Africans also enslaved whites for many centuries. The Vikings used to raid Slavic villages (hence the word ‘slave’) and capture their fellow whites to sell to the Black African Moors. The white slaves were known as “thralls”. If that did not “destroy the reputation” of whites, why should their enslaving blacks destroy Africans’ reputation? Stop feeling so insecure, and stop caring what they think about you! |

Kemetian:That's exactly the problem. The symptoms of the character flaw. Your concentration is on grand things faraway which you cannot properly tell how and when they were built. You say blacks were the first and only humans, therefore, the ancestors of the today's whites and asians were still the creators of the great European and asian modern civilisations. It's still the same people, they weren't Africans, somehow the their black ancestors turned white,so it's still the same people probably that invented those things you yap about. You dismiss as little village masquerades and neglect immediate and real time indications of African know how, while looking towards elusive ancient structures when real time local practices which you can learn from are dismissed. This is a character flaw that stunts African growth. |

Unless you saying whites are another specie or different form of humans to blacks ,how can you say white just emerged.whatabout Arabs and East Asians .it means they are not human or blacks are not humans. If you say they mixed with neartherdals to emerge white,it therefore means they still are offspring of their ancestors, while African blacks are not the same people that were in the so called ancient black Europe or Asia. |

Topman7:This is not about competition or attacks, it's a solution that is being overlooked. There are secrets still with us in our immediate environment that can be revived if studied ,but we have neglected them for long periods in the pursuit of European materialism( slavery era) and European concepts and traditions ( religion). Take IFA for example, why is there no comprehensive study of IFA to see the secret it holds which can create new knowledge and inventions from Africans instead of relying solely on European sciences. etc |

okpouman:What is this one talking about? Whites are an albinoid race or something that emerged after an outbreak of albinism among African settlers in ancient Europe. There is nothing mysterious about their emergence. |

Topman7:My point is the current white people,Europeans etc are descedants of their black ancestors who founded the things and inventions located in their region ,and descendants of the so called ancient black kings of Taiwan,China,Japan etc. They were not the ancestors of today's African Blacks. That's the point you guys keep missing. With this Blacks were everywhere thing. Those blacks were not today's African blacks ancestors |

okpouman:How do you expect to know what IFA is without caring about the History that LED to Ifa? You can’t understand or promote IFA if you don’t connect it to Nile Valley civilisation. People like you need to understand that Africa was not spiritually fragmented prior to European invasion. IFA was part of a Continental spiritual system with roots in East Africa, North East Africa and the Nile Valley. To understand it fully and appreciate it’s full scope, you must tie it to that Continental spiritual system, and see it as part of a holistic African spirituality. |

okpouman:What are you talking about, this man? If you don’t understand simple historical migration, use ChatGPT AI. Stop inventing weird theories in your head. Africans in other locations and regions are still AFRICANS. DNA connects them with Africa. There’s nothing like whites birthing blacks or vice versa. If you see blacks in ancient societies, they are AFRICAN descendants. QED. |

okpouman:Yoruba non-religious person here. Evidence shows there isn't much to learn from Ifa. It doesn't put food in anyone's belly, and it didn't contribute anything to the building of pyramids, which is why we never built any pyramids where ifa was practised, and is more like alchemy, which evolved into science, but which some are crying to deevolve back to. Some decry materialism, which could be the desire of material things, or better still, the study of the materials that exist around us, as opposed to concentrating on the immaterial. The latter definition of materialism, as in their study, requires the use of the senses, and is what gave us the instruments on which we communicate on Nairaland, and which was used to build the pyramids. Going back to Ifa is like going back to the dark ages in my opinion. And one just need look at the progress China, and the western world in fact, made when it dumped its own version of Ifa and adopted science, to consider if the past is better than the present. You'd be like my father who had to walk from Ifon Osun to the grammar school in Ilesha, and I bet you'd complain when you can't fly ọsọyin to the neighbouring town, not to talk of the neighbouring city or country. And you'd die young when ifa don't heal you from sickness. |

Topman7:You are contradicting yourself, you say all humans were black and whites emerged from albinism. Therefore am saying it means the current whites in the world are children of the ancient blacks, while the blacks in Africa today were not affected by albinism so remain black. That means the past kings the whites were worshipping are the ancestors of the current whites and not ancestors of African blacks like you people are trying to allude |
