If I were you I'll begin with cheapest checks like loose or faulty fuel tank cover, damaged EVAP hose or purge valve. The fuel pump seal can also be the culprit but I wouldn't make it my first suspect. Abi you dey smell fuel in or around the car?
Hmmm, sometimes I get 'fuel gap loose' on the dashboard while driving and when I try to close open and close the fuel tank, it disappears.

I'll begin by replacing the fuel tank cap.

Thank you. One of the codes is
P062800
Also, sometimes I get 'fuel gap loose' on the dashboard while driving and when I try to close open and close the fuel tank, it disappears.
I’d start my inspection from there cause a loose fuel cap is a probable cause for your evap codes ( check fuel cap o ring )
Are you also having performance issues ?

Hi guys. Good morning.

Please could someone recommend a Mercedes Benz technician in Lagos?

So I scanned it and some codes came up. I just need a Benz technician that can diagnose what’s wrong without trial and error.

The codes:

Code 1337
P0597
P0016
P0017
P0056 &P0036

It’s a 2011 ML350

Hmmm, while some of this codes are electrical related, I want to believe the p0016 and p0017 are balancer issues that has caused a misalignment, very popular on the m272 engines which I believe is In your car. As regards other codes you need a diagnosis on that. You can contact this lady at 09066743550 she’ll help out with both electrical and mechanical Diag cause you’ll need it. Tell her from Louis ( of course if you need the service ), thank you

I noticed some misfiring with the car, and the rpm is really low when idle. Apart from this, the vehicle moves smoothly especially when on speed. It’s only from being stationary, or when moving on low speeds that there’s a delay in acceleration. I don’t know if this make sense.

So I took it to radautoworks this morning. The diagnosis was intake camshaft sprocket, exhaust camshaft sprocket and timing chain. But the pricing they gave me is even more than the cost of an engine. I don’t see how I would spend N6m for these parts.

1. P1337
• Usually related to crankshaft or camshaft correlation issues, or misfire detection. On some Benz models, it can also indicate ignition system problems.

2. P0597
• Fan Control Circuit “A” High
• Means the engine cooling fan is getting too much voltage or there’s a short in the fan control circuit. Could cause overheating if ignored.

3. P0016
• Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation
• The crank and cam sensors aren’t syncing properly. Could be timing chain/belt issues, faulty sensors, or connector problems.

4. P0017
• Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 2)
• Same as P0016 but on the second bank of the engine (V6/V8). Usually appears with P0016.

5. P0056
• O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2, Sensor 2) High
• Indicates a problem with the oxygen sensor heater or wiring. Can cause poor fuel economy and emissions issues.

Change ur crankshaft position sensor and camshaft sensor

Thats ur problem.. disregard all that rubbish dem dey tell u

It happened to me

This issue dey cause poor fuel economy and rough idling

engine timing issues caused by failing sensors very prone on m271/m272 engine

Please what’s the recommended engine oil variant for ML350 - W164 (M272 engine)? Some say 5W-30. Others say 5W-40. And I don’t have the car manual.

Also, what’s the best transmission fluid to use?

5w40 and 0w40 are the best and European formula..... This will keep mechanics away for long time to come

Goodevening Everyone, my Mercedes Benz glk350 2009 model suddenly developed an issue which resulted into multiple issues. I was driving and suddenly I heard some notice below the car and next thing it showed abs and esp not available. Consult car manual. If I drive it a little distance, it will make same noise if I try to move at a higher speed and the warning sign will start blinking. I scanned it and it showed this codes 5543c(there is an internal fault in component ‘A7/3(Traction system)’ and U140B (implausible left Rear Wheel speed signal received).

The next day while taking it to a technician, the car started jerking seriously and I scanned it again and it showed (misfire in cylinder 1, 2, and 3 and also The charge movement flap in cylinder bank 1 has a malfunction) I have changed coils, changed nozzle, bought a new intake manifold yet the car is still misfiring and still showing the same codes even after clearing and resetting. When I clear and reset, it stops but when I drive for 5 minutes on the road, the codes come back and serious misfire happens. For the wheel sensor , I bought another wheeel sensor and it has stopped the code and ABs has stopped showing but the same traction problem persists. Now it’s showing on my dashboard, check brake wear. I’m confused and I don’t know what to do. This car for 3 days has really been a torn on my flesh. A lot of money spent and yet it’s getting worse.

I am based in Owerri.

Park it and seek out a Benz mech who knows his onions or else you'd spend a million quid for a ten thousand quid issue.
