Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has criticised his political aides for undervaluing their salaries in public.

He claims that his Personal Assistants (PA), the lowest-paid among his appointments, earn at least ₦1 million per month.

Eno said this during the Town Square Meeting with the people of Ikono and Ini Federal Constituency at Ibiaku Ntok Okpo where he elevated his PA on Protocol, Blessed Essien, to Special Assistant (SA), Public Works, for making a difference when he donated a water borehole for his community.

“As I arrived here, they gave me one brochure by a PA who out of the token (pay) he gets, has gone to his community to do a borehole and has replicated it around the village,” he stated.

“One man has done this, but some of them with political appointments are still lying to their people that the governor has done nothing. He has done nothing, and you’re still there. Some say ordinary PA, but a PA to the governor of a state cannot be ordinary.

“Hear me well, no PA earns less than a million naira. And when they want to talk, they will say it is a stipend. You call one million naira stipend. It is not a stipend to me. It is serious money.

“So I’ve asked the Secretary of the Government to compile names of all political appointees according to their local government areas, we are going to publish it in the newspaper.”

The governor then tasked the people, saying, “call your PAs, call your SAs, SSAs, call your Commissioner, ask them, what have you done?”. He then told Essien, “today you are being promoted from PA to SA (to the Governor) on Public Works.”

By how many percent is it more or less than the wages of the PA?

Place politicians in minimum wage and see if this country will not be a better place.

What is the job description of the PA's to earn such amount of money? When all civil servants in the state are subjected to 70k minimum wage that the US has now come to criticize as not been substantial going with the devaluation of the Naira and other very wicked policy brought by this administration?

They can do better what is good for Mr A is also good for Mr B after all they all go to the same markets buy from the same filling stations ⛽. I rest my case

Nigeria and misplaced priorities, see him boasting with this like it's an achievement, why don't make other sectors lucrative like Teaching and civil service so that people will go there and improve the life's of the citizens of the state, of what value is the PA's to the development of the state?

I need you to come up with details and proofs of a state you know in this country under this PBAT administration where a teacher earns 30k and a doctor earns 200k in a state or federal school or healthcare facility.

Do I call this sabotage, hatred or stupidity?

Chai PAs that are not doing anything are earning 1M monthly where as Helinues and his Brother Yarimo that are the ones doing the major work defending atrocity and impunity earns 30k naira and 1GB data every month.

There is something wrong somewhere. If your PA says a different thing and you come out publicly to refute them it means that the house is divided.

This man knows how and what he pays his personal assistants. That's why he is charging them to go and make an impact in their community. The governor cannot be paying you heavily with the hope that it will be rubbing off positively in your communities and then you get your community and tell them the governor is only paying you stipend and has not done anything.

Isn't that PA the same or equivalent to a civil servant? If so, why d different in salary? Or are u rubbing peter to pay Paul?

What is this man achievement since he becomes the governor of Akwa Ibom state.
