On a previous thread created by a nairalander, I narrated that I flew from Denmark to Czech Republic for less than 60 Euros with Easyjet.

Before the Naira was destroyed, 60 Euros times 400 naira under Buhari was 24,000.

Even with the destruction of the Naira by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu led government of failure, 60 euros times 1,800 is still 108,000 naira!

Let this sink in.

People fly from One country to another for less than 110,000. Even with naira devaluation. Because under Jonathan, 60 euros was less than 10,000.

Now look at the pictures below and see the atrocities going on in Nigeria.

Why are you ok with foreigners coming in to steal our wealth and you have concerns about Nigerians returning to their own country? Like Chinese, I am coming primarily for investment and I believe I understand the local economy more than the Indians and Chinese.
I spoke with my friend the other time and he told me Chinese are now planting casava for use in the pharmaceutical industry eason garri has become expensive. These people are not afraid to come into Nigeria, why should I. I have a foreign passport and still maintain an office out of the country while living in Nigeria.

I have said it over again, not everyone in the country is facing the same hardship, I know people who have become multi-millionaires in Nigeria in the past three years.

How many average Nigerians can afford that flight ticket? Even the so called rich are finding it hard to stay afloat.

In response to your claims about foreigners coming to Nigeria to invest; those Indians, Chinese and Lebanese you see are not normal Indians, Chinese and Lebanese oo.

Oga Sir, I know what I am telling you. They are not the average Indians, Chinese and Lebanese.

Those small businesses you see them doing are camouflages. That is their cover.

You can doubt this.

But I would like to inform.you that those "investors" have muti-billion dollar resource-extraction mandates from their governments!

Many of them work hand in hand with many state governments in Nigeria I believe.

They are there to extract resources at coat throat rates.

Sir, have you ever wondered why items on Temu and Aliexpress are super cheap?

It is because the cost of logistics is heavily subsidised by the government of China! They are on a mission to take-over world markets from SMES to large scale enterprises.

Look at Nigerian traditional banking system. Almost dead and collapsed. Forget the numbers they churn. Many are fake.

Opay and many fintechs owned by China are actually on a mission to take over Nigeria's financial operations.

But many are oblivious of this fact.

The flight ticket issue is more about the airlines extorting flyers.

Less to do with government.

Let's do the maths, real exchange rate is at most 3 times what it was as of early 2023.

Yet, domestic flight ticket prices have gone up between 6 and 8 times what they were in 2023.

It's the airlines.

In my opinion, it's part of a ploy to make Nigerians more productive...at these prices, you only travel for productive reasons, not the travel-on-a-whim we had when return flights were 30k to Abuja from Lagos.

Unfortunately, like all such plans, there are second and third order effects now in play.

Common man, Nigeria remain my country, and I am very proud to Identify as a Nigerian, I want to be able to thrive and succeed within Nigeria so I can show myself as an example to fellow diasporans who are skeptical about returning. With my foreign passport, I consider myself a second-class citizen and minority here and I am not afraid of failures or death. I count the cost and take measured risks and, Nigeria will be the only country we have at the moment and in the end, I want to be able to say, I tried my best.

Nigeria's inflation is now multi-dimensional.

Many of you Tinubu supporters are yet to smell the coffee. How can I visit Nigeria and travel to another state with over 200 dollars? When same money can fly me to and fro 2 different European countries? With far more superior service oo.
