A country with rational law makers. An adult deserves the freedom for betting. But when betting undoubtedly becomes an exploitative platform, the government is supposed to do something to save the citizens. But in Nigeria, the government will rather quickly ban social media than ban betting. This is because, betting does not affect politicians but social media can work against politicians. |

immortalcrown:Well, betting is a matter of choice, not as if you’re being forced to play it. It is people that will take money from their banks then walk into a sport bet center to play bet.. Me for example, I don’t play sport bet. I don’t even play anything gambling games at all.. |

PulaPower:The detrimental resultant effect of creating an environment for such an option, gambling to be a choice is what the Indian government wants to take out. One of Austin Jay-Jay Okocha's legacy to our Nigerian Youth is gambling. |

PulaPower:You probably made this response because you didn't see the first sentence in my second paragraph. I clearly stated that every adult deserves the freedom to bet. |

This can never happen in Nigeria, where lawmakers even own and operate betting companies. That virtual and Aviator go still dey bankrupt millions of people dey go. Last month, after repeatedly playing ping-pong with my modest finances, I decided to call it quits with betting. The peace of mind I've had since then is totally unrivalled. |

PulaPower:These your assumptions makes Nigeria where we are . You are right but not all human and men have matured mind to choose rightly as you said . Everyone is free for their choices but no one is free from the consequences of their choice which may not end negatively only on the person but other poeple . This Is the reason I welcome it for the government to intervene on how we do things . |

Remember that millions of jobs would also be lost. Make sure you are creating jobs before banning that, else, crime rate would increase. If bet was banned in Nigeria tomorrow, expect loss of jobs, crime rate would increase, cultism, kidnapping, obtainers and fraudsters. The same people saying it should bet banned would also cry when the negative effects happen. |

Nigeria should do the same. Gambling is destroying our youths. Giving them fake hope and dumping them. |

This should be implemented here as well. Our youth have become bet addicts to the extent that some can't even feed well but rely on the hope these betting companies sell to them Its unfair to these people and affects productivity in the country |

PulaPower:Does an average Nigerian adult look like one to make reasonable choices? Ditto Okocha and his fellow charlatans to the society of betting. Betting affects everyone negatively because the chronic gambler doesn't mind selling his neighbor's child to gamble for 2 odds and 2 evens 🤣 |
