Some people think because they don't bet it doesn't have a potential of affecting them smiley this shit is a menace. Folks looking up to it as an avenue to survival in this economy hardship may indirectly do shit that may effect one or his love one. Yes, this is how visceral the maladies can degenerate to.

Well, betting is a matter of choice, not as if you’re being forced to play it. It is people that will take money from their banks then walk into a sport bet center to play bet..

Me for example, I don’t play sport bet. I don’t even play anything gambling games at all..
Yes, same as hard drugs. But When something over shadows common sense it should be controlled.

The detrimental resultant effect of creating an environment for such an option, gambling to be a choice is what the Indian government wants to take out.

Nigeria should do the same. Gambling is destroying our youths. Giving them fake hope and dumping them.
because of that hope many have refused to do fraud or rob people bet gives hope and with that hope, many respect them selves, many refused to be scammers and kidnappers. Take away bet and watch Nigeria become the crime center of the world.

Gambling addiction is a form of mental disorder and u won't even wish it on your enemy,I can tell u that almost 80% of fraud and kidnapping cases somehow are motivated by gambling, most fraudsters end up using there proceeds for gambling and same with kidnappers and other evil engagement, because of the false hope they get it often results in people trying to escape their sinkholes of crime.i am an addict so am saying this from experience,I have done a lot of crime that I never imagined just to satisfy my urge,I was lucky to be well trained so I haven't committed the ones that would put me in jail, gambling is evil and by far the worst addiction u can ever have as a human being cos you would make decisions to quit millions of times but end up going back cos of the pain from ur losses and hope of recovery, imagine something u know the outcome doesn't always end well but u keep going back to it.....this cycle of this addiction always ends in suicidal taughts and if God doesn't help u, suicide will,go to sportbet or msports aviator and see people staking 3milliion per round for almost 30 times and all in losses, that's like 90million in less than 1hr,how can u explain that such person may not be a kidnapper or organ harvester or into fraud cos it's almost impossible for a genuine hustler to waste resources in such high amounts continuously

Remember that millions of jobs would also be lost.

Make sure you are creating jobs before banning that, else, crime rate would increase.

If bet was banned in Nigeria tomorrow, expect loss of jobs, crime rate would increase, cultism, kidnapping, obtainers and fraudsters.

The same people saying it should bet banned would also cry when the negative effects happen.
How many employees do you have in a typical betting store? Most people commit crimes to get the money they used for betting.

You talk like betting store in a state have hundreds of thousands employees.

Your Indian 'rational' lawmakers didn't ban gambling in India, they only banned it on Online platforms..... Thereby reducing its negative effect to some extent..

..
Did it occur to you that your 'irrational' lawmakers here may have put in the laws & monitoring system to guide against what happened in India??...... Or as black, you people & your lawmakers don't ever do anything right?? Huh
There are no betting shops on streets of India . legal betting in India is only restricted to Online platforms ,Horse racing and casinos .

Now they have banned online platforms , 99 percent of indians will not be able to acess the betting as casinos are less than 20 in country of size of India and government does not give permission to them .

Betting should be banned because goods are not produced. Just some criminals sitting somewhere raking in billions without offering some service back to the society.

There's a difference, all you mentioned doesn't promise instant riches

Betting does falsely promises instant riches
It's not falsely. It all depends on your selection.
Neither the bookmakers nor punters know the outcome of sports events. The odds are set based on a probability. Both the punters and bookmakers are gambling. The rule is to gamble responsibly.

I was once a gambler, but when I realised that gambling wasn't the way forward I have to work on myself and reduced playing it. Even after reducing playing it I also realised that I wasn't gaining anything from it and that I was still wasting my time playing it all, then I put a total stop to it.

There is a reason the bet companies said that people lesser than 18 years shouldn't partake in gambling.
