| Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by Kalatium(op): 5:01pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
In August 2025, I faced one of the toughest blows in my professional and creative life. After writing and publishing 80 books in 3 years on Amazon KDP, I woke up one day to find my account permanently banned. No prior warning. No specific explanation. No chance to genuinely fix anything. Just a blunt message: “Your account has been terminated.” I appealed. I waited. I hoped. But the response was the same — rejection without clarity. It felt like watching years of hard work, sleepless nights, and passion suddenly erased. I didn’t just lose books. I lost: A source of income I had carefully built. An outlet where my voice reached readers around the world. A dream I had invested deeply in. But here’s the part I want to share openly: I refuse to see this as the end. Because those 80 books are still proof of my discipline, creativity, and consistency. Because the skills I developed in writing, publishing, and marketing cannot be banned. Because setbacks are not the end — they are redirections. Yes, I am hurt. Yes, I am disappointed. But I am also grateful: 🙏 Grateful for the lessons learned. 🙏 Grateful for the global readers who discovered my work. 🙏 Grateful for the chance to rise again, this time smarter and stronger. This experience has taught me two things: 1️⃣ Never build all your dreams on a single platform. Own your audience. Diversify. 2️⃣ Resilience matters. Systems may fail you, but your spirit must not. Amazon may have shut a door on me, but it also opened my eyes to explore Kobo, IngramSpark, Smashwords, and even building my own publishing path. I’m not quitting. I’m simply pivoting. So if you’re reading this, let my story remind you: when life pulls a rug under your feet, stand taller on the bare floor. The pen is still in my hand, and the story continues. ✍️

I give up on Amazon kdp since 2022 and try my best and I did not make it |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by CodeTemplarr: 5:39pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
26 books a year is too high. Probably low quality output related . Thats one book every two weeks. Sounds like every chapter being presented as a book. |

YouTube does something similar though they may give strikes or warnings before outright ban. People publish videos and start watching it themselves to give it popularity |

So sad to read comrade. It's hard to make a sale on Amazon kdp when your name never carry weight. It hurts me that you lose that line of income. It's not easy to pull thousand words into a book. May your new horizon be bless with bliss. |

Wasn't a fan of the KDP from the get go but I feel your pain, all that hardwork and sacrifices just gone like that with no tangible explanation can be so frustrating but like the phoenix, you'll rise. Gentlemen, shall we? |

Kalatium:You can still earn from your ebooks if you are sure you own them completely and not copied from copyrighted materials. If you want to still earn from those books you wrote, and you are sure they are 80% your original work, I can guide you on how and where to publish them again and even make more sales than you made on Amazon. But before you proceed, reflect back and check if you did anything wrong or used any shady method during your writing process. I speak because I started publishing on Amazon kdp as far back as in 2012/2013 and I have been earning constant passive income from there, and three of my books made bestseller at some period and my account have never been banned or had issue but instead kdp have invited me several times to turn my Kindle books to paperback. So there is something you did, think deeply |

Don't be surprised if those platforms block you as well, one thing with Nigerians is that we love taking shortcuts and not monitoring feedbacks! When you are in a highly competitive space like KDP you might ignore customer reviews and returns. Just know that writing and publishing books is one thing, the other part is making sure your customers are satisfied! |

givedemwotowoto:YouTube will give you reasons. I am one of those that started content creation as far back as 2010. My videos were active and earning me few cents via my Adsense account until I started reading wide and learning how to increase your YouTube earnings so I started using black methods to create videos. I created amazing videos on various topics using the black method lol. Of the truth my YouTube earnings increased but few months later I started getting strikes and alerts from YouTube about my videos. It wasn't up to three months, 15 of my best performing videos with over 3million views back then got permanently deleted by YouTube, some for copyright reasons, others for various reasons ranging from violent to p0rn/adult content Next, my YouTube account got banned from monetization completely. Today, my YouTube account is there, some of my genuine videos I made and uploaded around 2010 are getting real views but I cannot earn from them any longer cos my YouTube account have been permanently banned from monetization. So op should look around himself and tell himself the truth, he did some shady things, those platforms are very strict and sincere. |

Sorry about your experience. Im curious though, How much did you make if you can share. That is a lot of books you published. Wishing you the best as you navigate these challenges. What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. |

franchasng:KDP invited you to turn your Kindle to Paperback? And you say you've been writing since 2012? There's a serious disconnect ![]() |

| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by franchasng: 5:53pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
samuelson06:Yes I have been given options on kdp to turn some of my kdp books to paperback, is there anything funny there? Do you want me to show you a proof with a screen shot of my kdp account? For your information, I started writing from when I was in Primary school and started monetizing my writing around 2009 via blogging on some foreign platforms where we earned via affiliate links inserted on our articles. You won't understand lol |

My account is still active but no single sale since 2022...

olax02:you cannot get sales with those type of books or topics. If you want to make sales on kdp, think like the readers. The readers are mostly from US, Europe, UK, Asia, etc, so ask yourself what topic readers from these aforementioned countries would love to read about? It must be something relevant and unique to those audience, if not you will struggle to make a sale. Also blogging will help you if you start blogging about your topics and adding links of your kdp books in your blog posts to refer people back to your books. It worked for me back then. There are many other methods to increase your sales |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by Immatex(m): 5:57pm On Aug 24, 2025*. Modified: 6:41pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
This is my advice. Have a deep reflection of your writings, style and content to be sure you are following all rules to the last. Beyond being resolute, learn about any mistakes you might have made. Because if you learn nothing from this experience and just carryon, you might get banned and burnt again. It’s not enough presenting your case as a victim, it’s about making sure you have not inadvertently broken a rule. |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by Esthered: 5:58pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
Why don't you want to appeal than outright lying accept the ban? |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by givedemwotowoto: 5:58pm On Aug 24, 2025*. Modified: 6:13pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
franchasng:Yes and that's the problem. It's a "faceless" forum so while it understandably hurts, it will benefit users more if they learned whether there were mistakes that led to the ban, like trying to manipulate their algorithm and so on. People will learn real lessons, especially those who may be approached by algorithm manipulators in the future. |

givedemwotowoto:YouTube terminated my How-to in Tech channel of about 50k subs and millions of views in January without any warning or strike and the reason was violation of nudity and sexual policy which I never went close to in a tech channel. The annoying part is that they will never tell you which video violated the policy and the only video I could suspect was titled 'how to watch adult content in YouTube' and guess what? There are thousands of monetized channels with that same topic and are still functional. YouTube bot behaves like Nairaland's bots |

80 booke in 3 years ? You were definitely manipulating the platform |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by Adebaba1(m): 6:07pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
Amazon are very cruel It's not your fault op Just move on because there's nothing you can do They don't delete American or UK accounts anyhow because they can sue. That's what set us apart from them I believe you will come back better |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by Kalatium(op): 6:07pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
CodeTemplarr:Nope. I have written most of this books earlier especially in 2020 during covid 19 because i got a lot of inspiration so most are just draft. So when i registered with Amazon kdp in 2022 all i needed to do was refine, edit and proofread the book. Some are divided into part 1 to 5 in order not to be too long. After the ban i replied to Amazon for a review. Showing all evidence that i didn't break any terms but it went on deaf ears. I asked them ti show me the particular thing i did that caused thw ban but they refused. |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by givedemwotowoto: 6:08pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
ediko5:The bots are definitely not perfect, but I'm curious, was the "how to watch adult content" marked as adult content before you published it, so they could warn users prior? |
| Re: Reflection On My Amazon KDP Journey And Ban by Kalatium(op): 6:08pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
Adebaba1:Thanks for tuw kind words. I will try draft2 digital and publish drive or even selar. |
