But one young Hausa man has now responded, saying this is completely false and misleading. He goes further to make a strong statement about misleading labels, saying: “The term ‘Hausa-Fulani’ is propaganda. We are different people. We are not the same with Fulani.” He warns that including Hausa in these attacks could make innocent Hausa families targets for revenge, and that everyone must understand this difference.

He explains, “These Fulani people are killing us too, right here in our own Hausa land. Look at what’s happening in Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, and the rest of northern Nigeria. We are victims as well.”

The youth calls on Nigerians from the south, east, and every part of the country to recognise the truth. He emphasises: “We don’t have anything to do with Fulani. Fulani are invaders, perpetrators of evil, and they are killing us too as they are killing other tribes.”

The Fulani have played a long game and taken advantage of the lack of intelligence of the Hausa man. There are less than 4 million Fulani in Nigeria so what do they do? They ride on the population the Hausa possess. The term 'hausa/fulani' is just a misnomer. Without the Hausa, the Fulani do not have the population that will make them dominant players in Nigerian politics.
