That place is equally shared by Igbo and the Northerners and they are separated by the majority road that link Alaba Intl market, the 2parts are dirty and disorganized so government will destroy both Hausa and Igbo shanties in that market, there won't be sacred cow

Such demolitions are necessary for a better environment. Regardless of who is affected, government should demolish markets and business areas that have become a menace to the host community.

They definitely were served a proper notice. But they thought it was the usual threat and no-action. Nigerians generally don't honour notices. Until they see law enforcement agents bearing arms and bulldozers vibrating everywhere, then they realize that it isn't a bluff. sad

Alaba Rago, was there supposed to be a permanent slum like that in Lagos? Can they have that kind of place in Abuja or ONITSHA? I have known Alaba Rago for about 30 years. 30 years ago that place was just about 5% of the present size. Church Village of the Military era of Abuja that extended a little bit to the present Durumi from Area 1 extension was a modern settlement compared to the present Alaba Rago , yet as at that time, it was a slum and was pulled down. The same was Mabushi of the military era that was a slum and pulled down.

On the ECOWAS route, you cannot have that kind of slum in Lagos. It is not possible. I passed the place often and even last week coming from Alaba International. I passed through the pedestrian wooden bridge and paid the crossing fee .

I reserved my comment. I listened to Radio Documentary on Sunday Igboho today and shed tears for YORUBAS.

When Okada was banned in Abuja and some cities in Nigeria no problem but when it was banned in some areas in Lagos there was protest. It took many years of enforcement and Fashola insistence on Rule of Law to make the ban have effect to some extent. At one of the protest , I asked questions on why Okada ban in Abuja city was not challenged with protest and Court case, they said Abuja is Federal Capital, I said, so Lagos is a Jungle as described by OBASANJO and any nuisances can take place in Lagos, they said, YES. I told them, time would come Lagos would refuse to be a jungle. Now, the time has come. This is the time.

Another hogwash, after Alaba Rago are shanties majorly occupied by Igbo along Cassidy and Okokomaiko, those places should equally be sanitary, anyone who wan cry should cry. It is a task to clean Lagos of miscreants and shanties along major roads
See careless talk!

Are you original Lagos protegy? No, you are not. But one of those who came to appropriate the political heritage of Lagos in the name of Oduduwa.

You are a torncoat Lagosian who has Lagos identity complex phobia. From one of those fringe states of southwest.

So, don't claim Lagos. Because you have foggy Lagos identity complex phobia.

My personal opinion is, anybody who takes Sunday Igboho seriously with the issue of Yoruba nation 😂😂😂😂 after him rising against the insecurity issues which he courageously challenged must be an illiterate like him or an educated illiterate. The truth is, over 90% of Yorubas don't care about Yoruba nation or see Sunday Igboho as anything special.

Lagos State Government Demolishes Alaba Rago Market and Mosques After 50 Years

The Lagos State Government has demolished the Alaba Rago Market, a well-known commercial hub largely occupied by Northern Nigerian traders who have conducted business there for over five decades.

Authorities explained that the decision was taken because the market had expanded excessively into the city, creating congestion and disorder in the surrounding area.

Traders, however, expressed outrage, lamenting that they were not given prior notice before the demolition. “We have spent more than 50 years building this market. We struggled to establish our businesses here. Yet, in a single day, everything was demolished without any notice. We counted no fewer than 40 mosques destroyed,” one trader said.

The demolition has triggered intense emotions and raised pressing concerns about compensation, resettlement, and the impact on ethnic relations in Lagos.

Injustice, where is justice?
If they can do this to their fellow citizens, what happened if it's done to them in Abuja.
They claimed lands in Abuja, no demolition.
They have streets named for them, no changing of names.
They wake up and go about their various businesses, no protest by indigenes to tell them to go to their region.
With all these things done to others in their region, who is now the greatest tribalíst.
I may wonder, but only time will tell.

The Northerners will not forget. This has nothing to do with the original master plan or whatever.
Seriously? The way and manner some of us just come up with thoughts and ideas is really alarming. What exactly do you stand to gain with this your comment? You just seek to cause mischief and catch cruise or is it to gather likes and mentions?

What is wrong with you? When lagos was destroying shanties in Lekki, did you go tribal about it? When it was at Apongbon bridge, did you go tribal about ? It's a common Knowledge that lagos have been issuing warnings to residents of Alaba Rago on hygiene and practices over there .
Do a Google search and see. This isn't targeted at any tribe.

So, why do you choose this path of violence?
