120M per year is not a lot of money even in Lagos for the profile of an ex player. Prudent to you is not prudent to him

Someone on the level of Ahmed Musa fit get up to 10 if not 20family members children wey him go dey pay their Private Uni (Babcock Covenant) school fees per year of 2m each. That is 20-30m on top school fees alone

You know say one trip abroad modestly can cost him $10k that is about N15m. Three of those trips in 1 yr is almost 50m. Or do you think 3 abroad trips a year is too much for Ahmed Musa. That is solo trips not carrying family along, and staying in budget hotels
120 million is 10 million monthly and that’s a lot of money here, even more for someone living in Kano. At that figure, you are considered one of the highest earners in the country.

Anyone spending more than 10M monthly is living a luxurious lifestyle compared to 95% of Nigerians and Musa normally should have no business living such lifestyle.

Remember he has 2 current wives and 2 ex wives (and I presume with children), so before you know it, that 10m might not go as far.

The U.S. provides aid/support to African nations, including HiV/AIDS funding (looking at South Africa in the face). In return, the U.S get insults,double-crossing,and even support for BRICS and Western foes. Despite this, same people still term the U.S & Trump 'e.vil'.

Some folks on here will say its "multipolar world".😁

Now U.S dun cut am, go to brics for aid & fundingz.😁

Most of them are illiterates but financial advisors do contact them but they would rather prefer to see their money resting in their bank accounts for assurance.

If i have $1m today i can never go broke or live in the trenches like Ibime erroneously believes.
As long as one spends more than they make, it’s only a matter of time before trenches starts calling. If you don’t make additional income in 3 to 4 months, your bank balance will take mutiple dangerous hits. I wonder why a footballer thinks theirs will be different.

No be so oh. People go still ganusi at every level. Mikel don retire when dem still dey run am kidnaping street. Didnt he say on his podcast that he was still expected to pay his Brother in laws medical bills. You probably wake up to 5 request daily from family people, Emenike even as he don retire will be waking up to 50 daily

How do you arrive at $50k dividend monthly post retirement, how much do you need to invest to guarantee that? I has this coversation with my financial adviser last week and he told me if you are not up to 65 the retirement age you will still be getting taxed heavily

An example of a stable low volatility, steady dividend and broad diversification ETF that you can plan retirement on is VYM it gives around 3% returns per year

$50k returns a month pre tax is $600K per year, How much do you need to invest cash to get $600k guaranteed a year at 3% returns. That is $20M cash

Now that $50k after tax in a state like California gives you like $25k per month

So if you really want $50k after tax every month you need to double all that numbers above.

Now the question is how many footballers have $50m cash untouched to put in the market
Ask your stockbroker in Naija about FGN Savings Bonds he will educate and guide you and you will understand that knowledge is power, and stop following Ibime in ignorantly shouting MMM up and down.

Naira hasn’t become that bad na. 10M is a lot of money if earned monthly. 2 to 3 million can feed a family of 20 monthly. A bag of rice currently is 60k, 100 tubers of yam in the north should be around 150k. Additional 150k buy 2 bags of sweet potatoes, 100k for 100kg bag of iron beans. 1kg of beef is around 6k, certainly less in the north. A little above 1M could even feed everyone fat. Additional 2 million for general welfare.

These wives will also have their own business set up for them. There is absolutely no way that someone who makes 10M monthly will live like a broke person.

2m monthly will feed a family of 20 comfortably? grin

Which sort of cap is this. I live alone and that amount barely make me live comfortably in a month.

Go and watch Oliseh videos he regularly uploads to YouTube. Oliseh hasn't painted or upgraded that house or that room he streams from in decades.

You think Oliseh does not/did not have $1m

First, as a footballer, your house will be worth $1m. Even if you downgrade, you go downgrade to $500k, then only $500k will be generating income for you.

I'm sure Oliseh house is worth $1m easy, at worst $500k but he doesn't have much else to generate income for him. Na abroad trenches be that.

People exaggerate a lot and i reconfirmed this during my last visit.

How many people in Nigeria collect 10m monthly in Nigeria, to start with? Most footballers i know don't blow money anyhow after retirement as most become family men and not out there as their new status is devoid of constant escapades that gulp a lot and many mistake it for living in trenches.

If Societe Generale Bank didn't run into problems, how many would have known that Okocha fixed that huge amount? Once you play professional football and win a Burndisleaguedown title like Boniface and you later find yourself in Okokomaiko complaining about hardship, they need to offer you to Fenibeso as sacrifice.

Musa collected £100k per week from Leicester so it will take a lot to bring him to his knees

But Musa na typical aboki, all his investments are in Nigeria

As far as I am concerned, all those investments (in Nigeria) are suboptimal investments and the same mistakes made by his predecessors that all returned to trenches such as Yekini, Oruma etc. He is lucky he can lose a lot and still be alright, but his investments no be am at all

Did Oruma win Burndisleaguedown title? How much was his salary for the 7 matches he played out of 38 matches that season?

Boniface and these modern-day players have themselves to blame if they go broke like Babayaro and co. No excuse.

Trenches the minute we stop earning.

One man mansion is another mans trench

Fabrice Muamba drives to gym in VW Golf 2022 plate. For him that is a trench, for me I wouldn't even care.

That is because Dollar is stable vs Naira

They will pay you 100m which in 6months will lose 50% of value

Ask those who had N100m in 2022 what their purchasing power became 1yr later
