Enskynelson:Here are the important information in the link for everyone to see and also learn from: Note: You cannot take both GST105 and GST203 Art, Education (Arts, Social Science and Foundation) and Social Science programmes are to register for GST 105 – History and Philosophy of Science in addition to other GST courses. Science programmes including Science Education are to register for GST 203 – Introduction to Philosophy and Logic in addition to other GST courses. All general studies courses are facilitated All GST course examinations are e-examinations except GST302 which is 40% e-examination and 60% for practical through business plan presentation and enterprise development. All direct entry students must take GST107 in addition to their 200-level GST courses. while Direct entry students at the 300 level must complete only GST107 and GST302. All graduate students who finished NOUN are excepted from GST707/ Now, let's cross check the info: 1. Check B.Sc Biology and B.Sc Computer Science, they don't do GST105. They both do GST203. 💯 2. All GST courses are facilitated? 💯 Follow link below to see 2025/1 facilitation timetable https://mylearningspace.nou.edu.ng/info/facilitation-timetable?field_facilitator_faculty_target_id_1=All&field_courses4_fac_course_code_value=GST&field_day_for_facilitation_value=All&field_semester_value=2025_1&field_host_department2_value=All&field_crs4fac_level_value=All 3. All GST courses are e-exams. This is very true 💯. Event GS302 that maybe should have been POP being a 300L course is an e-exam. Same with 707, 807 and 907. 4. All graduates of NOUN are exempted from GST707. This implies that if you are a graduate of NOUN (first degree graduate of NOUN) and you are running a PGD programme in NOUN, you should be exempted from taking GST707 (NOU707). This is quite understandable considering the fact that the person has passed the same course during the first degree. In my opinion, it should not be only exempted from GST707 but also 807 and maybe 907. This is a good idea but implementing this on the portal is not easy because the portal MUST first of all identify that you a graduate of NOUN before removing the course from your portal and as well as removing it from your graduation requirements. While this is a good idea, implementing it is not easy. For this particular information, I cannot verify if it is working. |

The issue with the student is the system is recognising him/her as one who started from 100L instead of Direct Entry and that has birth another erroneous perspective here about GSTs. GST 105 and 203 are not mutually exclusive, all students must take both if you don't want to waste your time waiting for your name on the graduation list which won't happen. They are both listed on the outstanding courses in the students' support portal and also listed as registrable courses on the main student portal. What is listed on NOUN website is not what is actually applicable on ground at times. |

Hojuholape:Can you state the programme where GST105 and GST203 are not mutually exclusive? Before I made my post, I had to check the current registrable courses in science department (specifically Info Tech and Computer Science). But now, you have made a claim without being specific which is often what can lead to confusion. You stated that ALL STUDENTS must take those GSTs. But I have verified that for Computer Science students and Info Tech students, they don't have both in their registrable courses. You can easily check and confirm this I appreciate you contribution to the discussion. For clarity, please, present the programme that has both GST105 and GST203 together so that we can learn from it and be aware that they are not following what has been layed down. From there, we can write showing disparities in them and I am sure, it will get the required attention. The DICT and MIS is meant to implement all these things but somehow, there are noticeable lapses. |

Apination:Create a document like this: Name: Matric number : Programme: Email: Phone number: Proposed project topics 1. Impact of... 2. Evaluation of... 3. Appraisal of... Put your proposed topics in 1-3. Attach your evidence of payment and registration and take it to your study centre. They will take it up from there. |

Chilipepper:If you take it calmly, step by step in your learning, you'd find it easier as an adult. You just might be shocked at what you'd be able to easily pickup as compared to when you were just a teenager. |

Please I want to register for the virtual exam but there's no submit button on my portal. How do I register for virtual exam and also I can't log on to e ticketing platform it is saying unknown user. I have not logged in before how do I rectify that Enskynelson: |
| Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Enskynelson(m): 8:20pm On Sep 02, 2025 |
Jecci:I don't think the virtual exams registration is opened yet. It will be opened before exams. Just keep checking. As for the support.nou.edu.ng, you may have to contact your ICT officer at the study centre. To login, username is normally your matriculation number and the default password is: default. If you try that and you still get unknown user, try and visit the ICT officer. It will be fixed. |
