Naira hasn’t become that bad na. 10M is a lot of money if earned monthly. 2 to 3 million can feed a family of 20 monthly. A bag of rice currently is 60k, 100 tubers of yam in the north should be around 150k. Additional 150k buy 2 bags of sweet potatoes, 100k for 100kg bag of iron beans. 1kg of beef is around 6k, certainly less in the north. A little above 1M could even feed everyone fat. Additional 2 million for general welfare.

These wives will also have their own business set up for them. There is absolutely no way that someone who makes 10M monthly will live like a broke person.
Per your calculation, that is #5000 per head for 20 people daily in 30 days. Let ask those in Kano if #5000 will be able to feed them in a day.

But for me,i doubt if 3m will be enough for family of 20 in a month even if you are buying in bulk not to talk of 2m.

i am sure these is the outcome of the actions of railway vandals

we are really messed up in this country

my folks told me that as far back as the 70s, people were already stealing aluminum from bridges in lagos

He hasn't gotten to that stage, but his problem is he thinks it can't happen or doesn't happen just because he hasn't gotten there.
Average guy.

Well, I'm not sure about the cause of the derailment yet. For all we know, it may be the work of bandits/terrorists and not necessarily railway vandals looking for "iron condemn"

Let's wait and see what investigations into the incident will reveal Sha

Stop comparing yourself to someone else. It's possible to finish that amount of soup in one day and just because you hear pot of soup it's not that kind of family potgrin. It might be small quantity for a day well garnished with meat and kpomo, shrimps, periwinkle, stockfish etc hence that amount. Let's give elder the benefit of doubt.

120M per year is not a lot of money even in Lagos for the profile of an ex player. Prudent to you is not prudent to him

Someone on the level of Ahmed Musa fit get up to 10 if not 20family members children wey him go dey pay their Private Uni (Babcock Covenant) school fees per year of 2m each. That is 20-30m on top school fees alone

You know say one trip abroad modestly can cost him $10k that is about N15m. Three of those trips in 1 yr is almost 50m. Or do you think 3 abroad trips a year is too much for Ahmed Musa. That is solo trips not carrying family along, and staying in budget hotels
You are listing luxuries. If you decide to spend like that and then go broke it's all on you. You can't be spending above your means because you are celebrity.

Huh?

If the wheels are worn out, it can derail.

If the speed is a little excessive, or was miscalculated, it can derail.

How can you be sure it was vandalism? Is it really easy to steal the rails?

The old trains that run from Agege to Apapa, how many times have they derailed?

I am not saying vandalism cannot happen.

I am saying that for a busy line like Abuja-Kaduna, it will be hard to do so.

I don't know how busy the Bauchi rail is, but it will be difficult to lose or cut the rails when you know that the train will pass there in 6 hours or so.

That's why you will struggle to see cases of vandalism in busy lanes like Lagos, or Warri.

You know how the rails looks like...Is it something that someone will use saw to cut?

Do you think traveling abroad in a year is a luxury for a former footballer? Or sending his kids to private Uni or abroad Uni is a luxury? Any former footballer who sees travel abroad as a luxury don enter Naija trenches be that

Sending 10 to 20 family members children to Babcock like you described is a luxury no one forced him to do, travelling overseas countless times for recreation purposes or just visitation is also luxury.

Still making my point.

You're a technical guy. How long do you think it will take vandals to carry out this? Knowing fully well that the last train passed there around 5pm last night?

I'm not ruling out vandalism. I'm just saying it's very much difficult for that line.

Usually done in conjunction with staff. So if they have the train schedule all they need is a deserted place the train passes through. It is impossible to police the entire rail way line. Same issue with pipeline vandalism

The story says that the accident happened just after they passed Kubwa station.

So obviously, they were still within the town.

If you have driven past that flyover at Iyana Ipaja that connects to Agege side of Ipaja, you will see that vandals are losing bigger metals little by little on that flyover.

Hunger and determination is just needed to do any form of vice.

To vandalize a rail is not like flyovers, especially a functional line.

Even the ones that are abandoned, it isn't easy to even lose, or cut those steel.

I am not ruling out vandalism oh. But there are many reasons why it can derail.

You would need substantial amount of the subject matter at that time (Egusi, Ogbono) to get enough liquid to rub the entire part of your meat.
Ahbi you want to use only 1 cup of Egusi to cook meat of 8000?
How e wan take be, you go need to up am

And when you have up'd it to 2 cups
2 cups of egusi can take down 12 wraps of fufu except na lick you de lick the soup

With that being said
Our Elder can take down 12 wraps of fufu/2kg of Semo in one day grin grin
