⚡A Ukrainian drone that was flying to attack a target in Russia crashed in Estonia — ERR

The wreckage of the drone was discovered in a farmer’s field in Elva municipality, Tartu County, at around 15:00 on Monday, the Director General of the Internal Security Service (ISS), Margo Palloson, said at a press conference on Tuesday morning. No one was injured.

Based on the very preliminary data, we have reason to believe that this may have been a Ukrainian drone whose target was located in Russia, but it was knocked off course by Russian GPS jamming and other electronic warfare measures, which forced it into Estonian airspace.

At present, there is no reason to believe that this could have been a Russian drone. Had the drone crashed into a residential building, it could have caused significant damage,” Palloson stated.

Volodin conveyed personal greetings from Vladimir Putin and thanked Xi for preserving the memory of Soviet soldiers. He also praised China’s contribution to WWII, saying:

"It is very important for us to remember those who sacrificed their lives so that we could develop today. It was at the cost of huge losses that our peoples did everything to win freedom," emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma."

Why can't they start mining their ports and beaches now?
I don't know much about the situation in South America but given US history of proxy wars in the region and the fact that they've been eyeing Venezuela for years, a ground invasion might not be necessary. They could incapacitate their givernment with airpower and pave way for whatever entity they've been nurturing to seize the country. It's a tried and tested model and USA is especially good at it. The consequences of this on Venezuelans would not matter as long as they have those oil fields in the bag

Journalist publicly quits Reuters over Gaza ‘culpability’

"Canadian photojournalist Valerie Zink has resigned as a Reuters stringer after eight years, alleging the agency has been “justifying and enabling” Israel’s killing of journalists in Gaza, including members of its own staff.

Her announcement came hours after an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis on Monday, the largest medical facility in southern Gaza, that killed at least 20 people, including five journalists, according to local health officials.

In a Facebook post, Zink accused Reuters and other Western media of amplifying unverified Israeli claims linking reporters to Hamas militants, arguing that this has contributed to conditions in which dozens of journalists have been killed since October 2023.

She cited the case of Anas al-Sharif, a prominent Al Jazeera reporter, who was killed with his crew in Gaza City earlier this month.

”Reuters chose to publish Israel’s entirely baseless claim that al-Sharif was a Hamas operative,” she wrote. Prior to the attack, the Israeli military alleged al-Sharif was a Hamas commander but provided no evidence.

”The fact that Anas Al-Sharif’s work won a Pulitzer Prize for Reuters did not compel them to come to his defence when Israeli occupation forces placed him on a hit list,” she added.

Zink also criticized Reuters’ response to the killing of its own staff, noting that cameraman Hossam al-Masri was among those killed at Nasser Hospital.

Western media, she said, were “culpable” by repeating Israeli claims without verification, acting as “a conveyor belt for Israeli propaganda.”

The number of journalists killed in Gaza since 2023 has now reached 245, according to press freedom groups."

Here is Valerie Zink's post. Every single issue she raised aligns with what most of us have been saying for years.

For the past eight years I have worked as a stringer for Reuters news agency. My photos covering stories in the prairie provinces have been published by the New York Times, Al Jazeera, and other media outlets across North America, Asia, Europe, and elsewhere. At this point it’s become impossible for me to maintain a relationship with Reuters given its role in justifying and enabling the systematic assassination of 245 journalists in Gaza. I owe my colleagues in Palestine at least this much, and so much more.

When Israel murdered Anas Al-Sharif, together with the entire Al-Jazeera crew in Gaza City on August 10, Reuters chose to publish Israel’s entirely baseless claim that Al-Sharif was a Hamas operative – one of countless lies that media outlets like Reuters have dutifully repeated and dignified. Reuters’ willingness to perpetuate Israel’s propaganda has not spared their own reporters from Israel’s genocide. Five more journalists, including Reuters cameraman Hossam Al-Masri, were among 20 people killed this morning in another attack on Nasser hospital. It was what’s known as a “double tap” strike, in which Israel bombs a civilian target like a school or hospital; waits for medics, rescue teams, and journalists to arrive; and then strikes again.

Western media is directly culpable for creating the conditions in which this can happen. As Jeremy Scahill from Drop Site News put it, “every major outlet – from the New York Times to the Washington Post, from AP to Reuters – has served as a conveyor belt for Israeli propaganda, sanitizing war crimes and dehumanizing victims, abandoning their colleagues and their alleged commitment to true and ethical reporting.”

By repeating Israel’s genocidal fabrications without determining if they have any credibility – willfully abandoning the most basic responsibility of journalism – Western media outlets have made possible the killing of more journalists in two years on one tiny strip of land than in WWI, WWII, and the wars in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, and Ukraine combined, to say nothing of starving an entire population, shredding its children, and burning people alive.

The fact that Anas Al-Sharif’s work won a Pulitzer Prize for Reuters did not compel them to come to his defence when Israeli occupation forces placed him on a “hit list” of journalists accused of being Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants. It did not compel them to come to his defence when he appealed to international media for protection after an Israeli military spokesperson posted a video making clear their intention to assassinate him following a report he did on the growing famine. It did not compel them to report on his death honestly when he was hunted and killed weeks later.

I have valued the work that I brought to Reuters over the past eight years, but at this point I can’t conceive of wearing this press pass with anything but deep shame and grief. I don’t know what it means to begin to honour the courage and sacrifice of journalists in Gaza – the bravest and best to ever live – but going forward I will direct whatever contributions I have to offer with that front of mind.

The IDF publishes a preliminary investigation regarding the incident at Nasser Hospital:

A camera suspected of monitoring our forces' activities was placed at the hospital.

6 of those killed in the incident were Hamas and Jihad terrorists. One of them even participated in the October 7 massacre.

If the pressure continues, we might see a change as it happened during Apartheid South Africa. In my opinion, I think today's West does not want to repeat that scenario where they lost political power in South Africa. If things change as they did in Apartheid South Africa, it means they have lost settler statuses in two different regions within a period of almost 40 years, and if you extend this to the Civil Rights legislation in the US, it means they have lost a lot of demographic and political control within a 70-year period. This is a demographic with a very anaemic fertility rate. So, they want to crush Palestine entirely. Two, the mentality of those in the UK and US, where White settlers derived power, differs significantly from today's Israelis.

But then, wealthy Arab states are culpable. In South Africa's case, Nigeria and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa lent support to Black South Africans. Qatar owns Al Jazeera, and Saudi Arabia is too rich to talk to its US' masters (can a servant command his master anyway?). What are they doing to end the situation?

Nevertheless, every mallam to his kettle. I cannot recall when any Middle Easterner called for the end to the massacres across various parts of Nigeria or sub-Saharan Africa.

Apartheid South Africa and Palestine are materially different.

A confluence of factors have allowed the conditions to persist and worsen.
There have been 3 Arab-Israeli wars. Israel won all three.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, the Arabs designated the US as their security guarantor.
These two major developments placed a conventional military solution out of reach and simultaneously emboldened the Israelis to believe they could take it all.

The only power that can stop the genocide today is China.
But Xi's China is non-interventionist. A quality most of us have cheered in recent past.

And around and around we go as more kids, journalists, and medics are murdered.

You could play a game of woulda, coulda, shoulda that would lead to different outcomes.

The Arabs should have negotiated a two-state recognition when they controlled Gaza and the West Bank.
All the Arabs needed to accomplish during the third Arab-Israeli war was a stalemate.
They couldn't manage that even though the Soviet Union handed them every best-in-class weaponry they demanded.
The Soviets also supplied them during the war and deployed forces to the region with an express warning to the US not to intervene.
To have all that assist and lose condemned millions of Palestinians to brutal occupation and death.

After Desert Storm, the Arabs are not feeling adventurous to change security partners, especially after what just happened in Syria and Iran.
We've seen photos of Epstein and MbS, the Gulf monarchies have a Sword of Damocles hanging over them due to their own malfeasance and incompetence.

Fair to say, there's enough blame to go round.
Iran could detonate a nuke then demand an end to the Gaza war or it'll intervene in a no-holds barred total war.
One where the choice is stark. A State of Palestine or millions dead.
But they have their internal saboteurs.
Less said about Putin and Palestine, the better. Xi is like, if the Arabs are intercepting missiles/drones meant to militarily pressure Israel, then why should I intervene. Saudi Arabia rejected BRICS membership. Even though Saudi Arabia hosts the only foreign deployment of China's Rocket Force.

In one sentence, the Palestine issue is messy.
Israel is culpable because they're committing the war crimes.
But the world has collectively failed Palestine.

It still can redeem itself, but players would have to get off their behind.
Right now, it is more of a case of who'll go first.
The US and Israel feel like they're at the end of the road. They've checkmated the Arabs. Iran is a wild card but if the next Iran-Israel 2.0 goes well for them, then it's all swell.
The Europeans are passengers and wag their tails to their Washington masters.
The Axis are occupied with their own security and economic challenges.
The rest of the world is like if the mfs with nukes can't stop the genocide, what are you looking at me for?

⚡U.S. sent 3 destroyers, a sub, P-8 planes + 4,000 troops (2,200 Marines) near Venezuela to “fight drug cartels.”

Washington says Maduro himself is tied to cocaine trafficking.

Venezuela hit back hard: 15,000 troops sent to the Colombia border, plus drones/aircraft.

Maduro also claims 4.5 million militia mobilized, arming rural militias with rifles and missiles. He banned drones for 30 days, citing fear of attacks.

Venezuela also deployed warships and drones to its territorial waters in response to the U.S. buildup.

U.S. also doubled its bounty for Maduro’s arrest to $50M.

Venezuela is also training with Iranian anti-ship missiles.

⚡Western capitals have drafted a security plan for Ukraine that would begin with a demilitarised zone, patrolled by neutral peacekeepers acceptable to both Kyiv and Moscow.

Behind it, Ukrainian forces armed and trained by NATO would hold a fortified border.

A European-led deterrence force, backed by US support, would provide a third line of defence deeper inside Ukraine.

The proposal is part of ongoing efforts to secure Ukraine while avoiding direct NATO-Russia confrontation.
