dr walter is enough, do another one indicating date you wish to enter so they know it starts from there, how long did they ask for correction? when did you submit for preliminary review, did they give you Deadline to update your insurance?
Stevolodge:
I uploaded both the Dr Walter free travel certificate and TK insurance certificate I got from Expatrio, but here was the feedback I got for the consulate:

The insurance required should state 'incoming' Kindly upload the required document.

What could this means?

Stevolodge:
Please submit all your school reports. This includes all school reports from primary school and all secondary schools.

Hello guys! I just got feedback from the embassy telling me to upload all my school reports. I have already uploaded my primary school testimonial. Is there something else I need to upload?
Your waec results and probably BSC/MSC transcripts

I submitted about three weeks ago. I'm still waiting for the appointment date.
Are you going for PhD or have a scholarship?

Hello, I have been trying to apply for MSc, I noticed I can’t apply for accounting which is my Bsc. because I have to learn in German then my grade credit score for some core subjects like economics related is low because I didn’t do much of economics in uni. I need help to know relating courses that I can apply for which It wont require economics, mathematics and statistics.
Go on daad.de and filter with the requirements you have, there are a million schools that don't require German for Accounting

🚨 Important Clarification on the New German Visa Portal

With the new German student visa portal, you can actually join the waiting list even if you don’t yet have all the required documents (such as your admission letter, blocked account confirmation, or sponsorship letter).

🔹 How it works:
1. Fill in the application form on the portal to the best of your knowledge.
2. When you reach the section for uploading documents, simply upload a short PDF note stating that the specific document is not yet available.
3. Repeat this step for every document you don’t currently have.
4. Once completed, you will successfully be added to the waiting list.

🔹 Why this is possible:
When it’s your turn to submit your application, the embassy gives you 30 days to update your file. During this period, you can:
• Edit your information
• Delete placeholder uploads
• Upload the correct, finalized documents

Essentially, you’ll be able to “re-fill” your application and provide everything properly at that stage.

⚠️ Key Advice:
This flexibility means you don’t need all documents in hand to join the waiting list. However, you must plan carefully: keep track of how long the queue might take, and use the waiting period to secure your admission letter, blocked account, sponsorship letter, and other required documents. That way, when the embassy notifies you to submit, you’ll be fully ready within the 30-day window.

✅ In summary:
You can join the waiting list now, even without all documents, but you must be strategic about your timeline so you’re not caught unprepared when your submission window opens.

This is actually a loophole many people are not aware of. I am a Nigerian applying from Dakar, Senegal, and this is exactly how I did mine—it worked not only for me but also for several others here in both Senegal and The Gambia. It’s a genuine process.

You can even confirm this information directly on the German Embassy’s FAQ page.

Think about it: admission letters usually expire within one year, sponsorship letters after about six months, and many other required documents are time-sensitive. So, how can applicants be expected to upload all these documents at the time of joining the waiting list? By the time it’s your turn, those documents might already be invalid. That’s precisely why the embassy provides a 30-day window later on, so applicants can resubmit updated and valid documents. See the reference image below.

I recently applied to a German university for a sports related course, and a few days ago I received an email confirming that my application has been accepted.

My main concern now is timing. The semester starts between September 29 and October 1, yet I haven’t even begun my visa application since I’m very new to the whole process. I was considering applying from Ghana because I’ve heard appointments in Nigeria usually take much longer to schedule.

Please can anyone help me with any information or advice regarding these issues ?

read vividly through below man
German Embassy in Nigeria (Abuja/Lagos):

Appointment slots for student visas can indeed take a long time (sometimes several months).

However, you’re generally expected to apply from your country of residence (Nigeria in your case).

Applying from Ghana may only be possible if you are legally resident in Ghana (with a valid residence permit, not just visiting).

If you’re not a resident in Ghana, they will likely turn you back.

👉 So your safest and correct option is Germany Embassy in Nigeria.

2. Visa Application Process (Steps)

Here’s the usual order:

1. Book a visa appointment as soon as possible (don’t wait!).

You’ll likely be placed on a waiting list system, so the earlier you register the better.

2. Prepare required documents:

Admission letter from your German university.

Proof of finances (usually a blocked account of €11,208 for one year).

Proof of health insurance (you can get a temporary travel insurance first, then switch to student insurance in Germany).

Academic certificates, transcripts, CV, motivation letter.

International passport + copies.

Visa application form + biometrics.

Regardless of where you apply from, the chances if you meeting your resumption date are slim to none. To apply from ghana you need to have 6 months residency, and they also have their own waiting list too of a few months, although not as bad as ours

In Nigeria, the waiting time is creeping up to 2 years. They are currently giving appointments to early November, 2023.

Hello everyone,

So, I initially thought I would have to go through the whole stress of applying and waiting from scratch. But I just found out that a friend who once helped me apply to some universities had actually started my visa application back in April 2023. Since then, I have only received three emails, all dated from 2023.

Does this mean I’m already on a waiting list? I haven’t seen any email that clearly states that. Also, how can I confirm if my application is still valid?

I’m new to all of this, so I’d really appreciate your guidance. Thank you!

P.s

I was given a reference number in one of the emails( the second)
